My (admittedly pessimistic) expectation would be "barely if at all", just because I haven't heard anything that makes me think 10e has fixed the general issue 40k has pretty much always had with that kind of high-mobility strategy (namely, that the board is too small, ranges are too short, and the game doesn't last long enough for those kinds of shenanigans to really shine, especially when Guard fragility is in play). That said, it's lovely to see that playstyle get a good detachment, and it's definitely what I'd be using.

I think the trouble with these leaks is that we definitely don't have the whole picture. Guess we will find out soon enough.

I really need to get in and learn 10th, I have Guard. The game systems of arbitrarily giving abilities to match themes really bums me out.
"Oh a mechanised unit, uh sure when they get out of a transport they wound extra good!" "Hey and here have a stratagem so you can leap back into the vehicle, you can start doing the vehicle-and-las-rifle hokey pokey dance!"
The idea that IG officers can issue orders to units and perform better whilst say SMs can't is just as "silly" of course but it's a lot less silly than some of these things.

Some interesting things I consider running:
- catachan heavy weapons team: get into position with the 6" scout move
- Krieg engineers: 35 point units just have great utility, and their abilities are good, too
- Rogal Dorn Tank Commander Sounds fun, two orders for tank commanders in general really increase their utility
I'm not too thrilled about the "these are your three infantry squads, mix and match" approach, but in the end it's a game so what ever

Goonhammer review is pretty favourable which is good. The fact that Scions do actually have deepstrike and a day 1 errata is required is frankly absurd. For a company the size of GW it's a joke that something like that crops up.
Overall I'm happy, I just need to know about loadouts while I'm building my new army!

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to figure out how Solar Auxilia can be used in the new codex (When it's released)
Thanks for accepting this mission!

Weird about the day one errata, as do scions really need deep strike when they have Valkyries and Taurox? So what is the point of the new aquillons?

Done.
Just like I'll be doing with all my Tallarns/Mordians/Valhallens/ RT era Guardsmen/etc, you put them on the table & say "These are Cadians/Krieg/Catachans".
You might need to kit bash some of them to be sporting the special weapons of choice or crewing heavy weapons & assorted guns.

That's all?
I've been staring at a box and was thinking of making them into a combat patrol. I just need to convert some into an artillery piece.

I've been trying to wrap by brain around HH insanity all day. Knights in Mechanicum have different rules/abilities/Armigerd available than Household Knights.
So yeah, I was expecting a tangled web of rules.

I have a heavy weapon squad kit and I have built one autocannon so far. I am considering building the other two models as heavy bolters because I think they look cool.
Can someone explain the pros and cons of running a mixed heavy weapon squad (in this case a 2x1 autocannon/heavy Bolter squad) vs a HWS with all three of the same weapon?

It really depends on the role the team is supposed to play. The Cadian heavy weapon team has better overwatch, allowing you to react to your opponents move and force them to play around that ability. I really like the autocannons for this, as they can threaten heavy infantry and light vehicles.
I usually prefer one type of weapon per team, as it makes positioning and targeting easier, but I have run 2 autocannons and one las cannon in older editions. Trades flexibility against optimal damage.
To be honest I'm not too sure about weapon teams this edition, they need the protection from infantry squads which they can't get.

I mean you still have to use the 40K rules…but there’s nothing stopping you from plopping a 30k knight on the table and saying it’s X or Y 40k knight. Pro-flexibility
Con-decreased efficiency
That’s about it.
I’d say just buy a second kit and have one HB HWS and one AC HWS.
Rules and stats change regularly, but right now the units you’d want to target with a HB will be a less than optimal target for an autocannon. Reversely the units you’d want to target with an autocannon will be a less than efficient target for heavy bolters.
If you want a more flexible HWS that’s what missile launchers are for. Anti horde mode, and an anti-light armor mode.
