Well, you can't take any special characters other than the Ynnari ones - this includes the Avatar as he's an Epic Hero too. And Harlequins don't become Ynnari - you can take them, sure, but they don't benefit from the detachment rules at all.

It's a funny army but as I like the macabre elements that are not available to it it's not an option at least for me.

£25. I did check them when they announced the two-pack just to compare prices later. No increase or decrease in value, but more awkward if you'd just like to buy the one.

And this isn't a splash release, so she'll be back in stock eventually.

Hopefully people suffer an outbreak of common sense, and the scalpers get burned...

And don't eBay have a policy about not listing things you don't have in hand, or something? Or is that only for limited run items? If not, get reporting the gits.

Cheers.

I had thought so. I've only got a single War walker, but wouldn't mind another two if three are possible.

If you check ebay even stuff that's in stock and sold retail has models at high prices WAY above. I've heard a few arguments for it

1) Stores/people that have a repeat listing but don't have current stock so they put a stupidly high price so that they keep the listing active (no more relisting fee); but its very unlikely to actually sell

2) Long term sellers who are just waiting for the day that the thing goes off-sale and then they can make a fortune - even if it might take 20 years

3) Some kind of money laundering system that wants to generate sales but doesn't want to actually send out any product anywhere; so they grossly overprice random stuff to sell to others in the scheme; and if anyone legit actually makes an order they can just cancel it or buy the item and send it retail and still profit.

Ebay is truly awful these days.

This is regular stock though so just wait for next restock guys, dont feed the scalpers.

I have to say regular normal stores on ebay are totally fine, but if they are established chances are their own website offers prices a little cheaper. Meanwhile a LOT of secondhand selling has gone to Facebook trade groups.

Heck the latter got so bad that ebay UK has been removing listing fees for users to try and claw back the market because they can't compete with free listings on FB that also take 0% of a cut for all sales made (the only cut taken is typically the Paypal goods and services fee)

Outside scalpers, I'm surprised people even sell on Ebay. Ebay takes such a pretty sizable cut of whatever you sell, which definitely contributes to people jacking up prices on top of whatever they were originally charging.

Though its still possible to get models cheaper than at a GW store, so it's got uses

"Back in my day" ebay is where you went to get items at prices lower than you could find anywhere else, these days the ebay prices are rarely better than discount retail.

I’ve just bought a Marine army for my son mostly using eBay. If you stick at it you can get stuff at steep discounts. Usually half-sized squads of easy to build stuff and the associated characters to be fair, but anything that comes from a discounted box set seems to turn up at reasonable prices as people offload the bits of the set they don’t want.

Also anything that comes through the Combat Patrol Hatchette thingy turns up at nice prices.

I only use eBay to get oldhammer stuff that no one really uses anymore or the occasional bits purchase.

For the most part, I find pretty decent prices. I got the metal Marius Leitdorf in a sealed blister for like $40 USD (and that included shipping). Sure, that's inflated compared to when the model was new 20+ years ago but it's not too insane compared to GW's current pricing.

Scalping new stuff is deplorable and I don't give those types my money.

No, this is ebay's policy, "Presale listings must clearly state that they are "presale" in the title and description, and guarantee shipment within 40 business days of purchase."

Partly because "Back in your day" ebay seller fees were around 5% of the item sold. The % went up back then with higher cost items, I believe it was $500. They're now around 17% of the item sold depending on the location of the buyer (rather than the 15% ebay claims) because they charge their percentage after sales tax or the 'final value' of the item--which is ridiculous.

She's still in stock on the Canadian GW webstore. The only sellouts so far, 25 hours after going up, are Fuegan, Fire Dragons and the Limited Codex. All but the limited Codex were available for a good few hours after going live.

(As an aside, I'm always surprised by the market for collector's editions of books that will be replaced in the next 18 months or so.)

Surely nobody buys the special edition books to actually read? They're just there to look nice on a shelf, right?

FB Marketplace is an absolute cesspit. We've successfully sold a few things on it, but everything we list gets inundated by scammers within a few days. Even trying to sell a high chair for £20 left us having to deal with obvious scammers.

The eBay prices for new products that have sold out on GW's store are often ridiculous but I don't think they mean much if people aren't paying them. I see a lot of stupid listings remain up for weeks with no interest at all.

I think it's just people trying their arm.

I kind of feel eBay is just a function of supply and demand. In the olden days (say 10-15 years ago) 40k and others wasn't as popular so you could end up with a sea of minis looking to be sold. This drove down prices.

We still see that with say the unpopular half of starter sets. I grabbed the necron half in ninth for very little. I think if you timed it right there were deals on the Tyranids.

Today if you go on eBay looking for something specific and theres only 3 sellers, unsurprisingly there's not much of a discount to be had. And they may feel someone will show up (and presumably does).

I got some decent prices on stuff that was finecast but had a plastic kit come out, like Krootox and Flayed Ones. But then you are dealing with finecast.

He also says the automata are four per unit. Weird (unless they come with a TS Marine to lead them perhaps?).

Don't love the return of campaign books with actual rules for units in. That mess is bringing back the worst of 7th.

I wonder if the drop pod is fully new or if they just retool the marines to be Primaris. It doesn't really need to actually be any bigger.

Oh, and from GW themselves, this year's anniversary model is an alt sculpt for the Genestealer Cult Primus.

i find that ebay is best for finding old metal minis or the like. i've done a lot of my birthday/holiday shopping for my girlfriend on ebay, and have gotten a bunch of old eldar/IG stuff that way. while some stuff gets pricey, there's still plenty in the $10-$20 range, especially in the auctions no one cares about. even managed to get a box of metal harlequins for $30

new kson automata has been the rumor since summer, so i'm very excited what that's going to end up being

campaign book would be interesting, because it'd be likely for there to be one at the end of the edition, but if it's coming out in spring, that's still really soon for that. so i'm not sure what to think of it

finally, a standalone Primus. excited to have an alternative to the broodcoven version, even if the model looks basically identical

It's in the context of the Salamanders icon on the preview so it'd be somewhere in summer assumingly, which is about spot on for the typical end of edition book bloat to commence.

I am pretty sure that a few years ago they said they would start doing a MTO for the previous years event miniatures but this never happened. A real shame as some of us just can’t get to events (and had no luck with the loot group for these models this year).
