Welp, there's no chance of me finishing painting my terminator squad before the end of the month. It's been a long time since I failed to finish one of these, but it looks like June 2024 just isn't my month for mini painting.

I’m not going to finish the whole squad. Right now I’ve shifted to getting one guy done. Put the final blue wash on him last night, so it’s just edgeing, clean up, decals and basing left.

Do people need an extra day? We can always push the deadline back if it would help.

I don’t think a day would help in my case. Feels like I’m closer to a week behind schedule.

I'm bowing out of this month's contest. I'm experiencing hobby burnout and need a break.

Better painted, or just a better sculpt? I'm not sure.

Allright, nice.

Been buying a new army, so will have something foot sized and on foot and also somewhat foot with a d as in food for whatever manages to pin one down..for next month..

ofcourse, I am speaking of loon cults.

Also contemplating giving them human skin because I am tired of using green in 75% of my armies already.
Either that or red toned like my trogs had.

Bit of a terrible month, really - I haven't managed to complete all the Krox, and I have to work tomorrow, so this is as far as I'm going to get. But I do have an entry, at least; one original (5th ed WHFB) Kroxigor, and one of the current, far bigger, AoS Kroxigor. I've given them the same colour scheme as far as possible.

Lovejoy - Kroxigor

Spoiler:

Also, here's one of the pics without the spoiler tags, just for visibility...

cheers,

Nice looking dino's, digging the natural color scheme, loads of cool entries as usual

I would have struggled to get the second dreadnought finished in time but the shop I popped into the other day didn't have normal base/layer dark angels colors, just the contrast which I'm not keen on.

Think I have been on the coffee too much /lack of sleep I spent half my time sorting bits I had accidentally touched randomly with other colors.

So with that in mind I decided to just finish the box dreadnought off a little more, there's a few glowing lights and a radiating cheese and tomato pizza base to count as the "Glow Up"

So the rest of the squad is still WIP, but got one to the finished stage. Really enjoying these new guys. My old metal terminators are just casually standing around, but these boys have some life to them. My paint scheme pre-dates helmet colors for vets, so no white helmet for this guy. He did get a BA icon on his leg as a callback to an old RT bit of fluff about a TDA squad getting ready to teleport into combat. One of them was in a borrowed suit from the Ultras, where whenever they painted over the blue the wearer was killed. In my headcannon, it was returned and we honor the time is spent with the angels, so as not to incur the wrath of the armor's machine spirit.

Anyway, I should get working on the rest of the guys again to try to clear the decks for next month.

Let’s get those entries finished off and submitted! Last day of the month

Just caught up on this thread, hoping to have my plasma troops finished this evening, barring disasters with resin.

@Lovejoy, so sorry to hear about your son, I hope things improve for him and for you. Those Kroxigor look amazing, by the way!

Spoiler:

Why is this a glow-up? Besides the luminescent effects? Well, because it's an update to my previous Plague Doctor

Spoiler:

This pic isn't an entry; it's just to show why this is a glow up

A Protoss colony world

I'm far enough behind that one extra day just ain't gonna cut it. I'm waving the white flag. I hate hobby schizophrenia so much, I've been doing a lot of assembling lately but just haven't felt like actually painting anything after my tournament earlier this month.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I'm running a little late this month. I planned out quite poorly, unfortunately. But I should be able to post something July 1st or 2nd.

I literally just need a coat of varnish and some nice photos.

Nice work Maharg and Cancelled Apoc

And completing my final Pics here

I like how this turned out overall, I went for a Mordheim theme rather than Ankh Morpork/Discoworld as I wanted this to look like a grim dark photo frame with the background and the sides adding to the piece (I got them printed out from the rulebook) but the good thing is its easy enough to swap in a new background and sides if you feel like it. Could put the Tower of Art in the background and small dragons or Hippos up the sides

A few bits could be improved I think, I lost a small rat I was going to put in the scene coming out the Tunnel and also forgot to put a skaven symbol on one of the boxes to show who the red eyes belong to. Took me ages to align the lights with the holes so you could actual see the eyes. I think the scene it tells a story at any rate and I'm looking forward to this being on my Shed office wall near where I work when at home. Tried a bit of OSL with the Guard with the lantern too.

Thanks Maharg! The skintones on your Dragon Ogre are fantastic! Wish I could get skin to look like that...

@Midget Gems That's awesome! Love the glowing eyes under the bridge/in the culvert, really well thought out and executed!

Love that old school Ghazzy on the left!

As long as we're posting ork stuff, I've finished the last Gnot Tank in the squad. As part of this wee grot's glow up, I think he got a few too many stim chems from the dokks to help him win the grot tank races, he's a pretty diesel little guy. New bod, new ride, ready for summer!

Great work everyone, I can't wait to vote for all this amazing stuff!

I'm sad I didn't end up having much time to paint this month, so my glow up burned out. Can't wait to vote though, everyone's entries are great!
