I've done a bunch of 3D printed scenery

I even made a little 15mm travel set by printing some of the designs off at 50%

You can find all the files on Cults and MMF if you have access to a 3D printer

Love seeing that old terrain get new life, especially the old Eldar monolith. Lovely work.

Oh, that's so cool to see the old paper terrain turned 3d with plastic prints. I also love the bold blue of your paint scheme.

Cheers, that monolith went from nothing to that in two or three days very unlike me. It just got into my head that I had to make it.

Thanks, I'm trying to turn that 90's look up to 11

Not really progress on the cult, but they are in the picture. I finished painting my Retro Bastion and decided to try playing 90's White Dwarf.

Time machine! Love the original plastic Guard and character conversions. I imagine the guy on the roof delivering an inspirational speech in the voice of Randy Savage.

That's Jeff, I had a lot of fun making him. Perhaps too much.

Randy looks awesome! I can see why he was a fun model to work on! Loving the Retro Bastion too, the whole retro set is super cool

Thanks for the nice comments, I have had to get some scenery painted recently so thought I would post some progress in here until I get back to the cult.

I have been practicing my sponge technique and am pretty pleased with the results. It's a really quick and easy way to paint lots of scenery to a good standards it seems.

I started out by painting all of the yellow areas with the colour I wanted in the shaded areas, in this case a nice deep orange.

Then I sponged on a lighter yellow over that, leaving the base coat behind in the recesses.

The final stage of sponging was done with a small piece of sponge (approx 5mm square at the end) using a thinned down white paint to add a highlight to the top of the blocks.

Your terrain techniques are spot on - I nearly had to go back into my old Citadel Terrain book and be like "Is that a source photo?" Now all you need is a fully green flocked board and some polystyrene layered rock pieces ala the 1990s.

Cheers, I'm working on those so hopefully I'll have some pretty pictures to share in the new year

I got the yellow ruins finished up, fairly happy with how they have come out. Now onto the blue/grey ones, hopefully they'll be done soon as I'd like to move onto the cathedral next.

Lovely work there Doctor Spork. That cathedral looks like it is right out of the pages of an old White Dwarf.

Thanks for all the lovely comments folks, always nice to hear. Sorry I've been a bit quiet for a while, hobbying has been on the back burner for the last few weeks. Hopefully I'll get back into the groove, I'm going to paint up this big boy for my cultists.
