Well with Halloween around the corner it is time to prepare a list of books/games/films to properly enjoy the season.

I've got the upcoming dual pack of the retro arcade Halloween and Ash vs. Evil Dead coming and plan on playing those on or near the 31st.

If you haven't seen it:
Spoiler:

As for films I just discovered the original Fright Night is on HBO Max so that is on the list. I want to add another film into the mix but can't decide between a MST3K horror film or a more recent horror film I haven't watched. I had thought about watching the new Salem's Lot this weekend but maybe I should hold off on it till the 31st.

Anyone else making plans?

Digging through my DVD racks for those obscure beauties you can’t find on streaming.

There’s a fair few to go through, from truly awful cannibal films, to dodgy zombies to top notch Folk Horror.

I’ve even got Ghostwatch, which I bought years ago and never stuck up the spout,

We’ll have a party for my son and his friends. He hurt his leg, so instead of trick or treating or hitting a piñata, we’ll probably play games and watch movies.

His favorite game right now is Telestrations, which is an excellent party game. We’ll create a deck of cards themed for Halloween, which should be enough to make it spooktacular.

For movies, we’ve been watching vampire movies so far this month, but there were three films we’ve been dying to watch with friends.

1. Suspiria. It’s a colorful giallo film full of atmosphere with an amazing score. Fun scares, too.

2. House (Hausu). A bonkers “so bad it’s good” masterpiece full of memorably insane moments. We laughed way too hard last time.

3. David Lynch’s Rabbits. A surreal sitcom loaded with dread that’s uncomfortably hilarious. We may save this for Thanksgiving or Christmas to catch the cousins unprepared.

Oh, and we’re going to eat a gakload of candy.

Original Suspira or modern Suspiria, Bob? Or both?

Given #3, "Night of the Lupus" might be suitably daft as an addition, too.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Original Suspiria.

After watching TOS, we had a minor viewing party of the best scenes from Night of the Lepus, Incubus, the Bilbo song, and, of course, Shatner’s Rocket Man.
