Although not exclusively 40k, the Red Gobbo, guns, etc., tend to make it a more 40k-themed model

Skaven exist in 40K via many small mentions(even by name) in various media not related to the infamously incorrect Hrud picture.

I'mma need a source on that. Outside of Kweethul, I've yet to see a mention of Skaven in anything not Rouge Trader related.

My prediction is it'll be outrageous.

I'm tempted to buy him anyway if I don't bankrupt myself on the squiq one from previous years on ebay.

I'd be very surprised if he wasn't in line with other single characters in recent times, so somewhere in the £22.50-£25 bracket.

Which is nuts for a single model, for sure, but comparatively not excessive for a single GW character.

The euro price was posted in the HH thread, it's €25 so probably £20-21

My bad, I misread the list and the model is €34 (~£27)

In my country single commemorative minis are €40 minimum. (netherlands)

That's crazy for such a small bit of plastic, but actually not so bad for GW. I haven't ruled it out entirely.

I'm more used to pricing on stuff like the Scribor Christmas range, which are resin and cheaper though not limited edition.

Once you factor in the snowman and his little helper, there's quite a bit going on on that base.

Probably not as much as GW are charging, mind you, but more than just a Grot on a base.

As far as I'm aware, warpstone isn't a thing in 40k. Given that its chaos solidified, if it did exist, I feel like it would be a lot more prevalent in the setting

It might exist on planets with “stable” warp breaches like Mallus had at its poles.

So probably places in the Eye of Terror.

Ignoring the Skaven symbols in Darktide and the End Times having them contact a Craftworld, there's a mention of them in one of the side bars of one of the Psychic Awakening books(I believe War of the Spider but not 100%) and Liber Xenologis mentions them by name.

£27 or so is the sort of price I expected considering the amount of stuff there is to it, a bit of a shame its so much but it does look like a nice diorama miniature.

The End times did not have them contact a craftworld. They contacted somewhere, that to them sounded like Elves; the specifics of it are left vague. That can be interpreted as having contacted the Eldar, but that's not necessarily the case.

What were mentioned in Liber Xenologis, though? "Skaven" specifically?

Canonically, The Olde Worlde is a lost planet on the edge of the Eye of Terror.

Historically a lot of 40k's tropes grew out of ideas for bringing sci fi into Warhammer Fantasy.

Also, not sure if interwebular falsehood, but weren’t Skaven originally designed for 40K?

I don't think so, going by the article in the latest White Dwarf that talks about designing Skaven across time.

The Skaven Darktide symbol is just as Easter egg from the creators of Vermintide. The canonicity of Liber Xenologis has always been a little iffy.

If Skave existed in 40k we would have seen them in Necromunda by now.

I remember starting to make a skaven necromunda gang a long time ago, but just ended up running a poison wind globadier in my Ratskin gang as a fun thematic mutant.

GW has released a video about painting the new Red Gobbo. It looks like all that texture on the base, snowman and his coat is molded into the model.

BTW, I really want one of those sweaters she is wearing.

Ouch, 100% acryllic (plastic), would've ordered one too if it had been cotton or wool. meh.

And the price.
Not even a blend? Now I'm a lot less excited about it.
