If there's enough vehicles for a vehicle detachment (not a transport one like Slaanesh), and it sounds like Tzeentch is also losing it's chariots, I'm not sure I'd take that bet.
Especially when daemons engines also have the daemon keyword.

I'm not sure about that. I think that the Emperor's Children lost at least some of those units because the writers thought that they would be too powerful with the Thrill Seekers rule. It's not a good reason, as they just could have written in the codex that vehicles can't benefit from that rule, but still, I think that's why it happened. I just checked the website, and cultists are no longer under the TS roster, so I think that that is going to be taken away. It's the same with the Death Guard. I think what's going to happen is that EC, DG, and TS are all going to get their own unique cultist units.

It's really weird, because parts of the background section of the EC codex mention warbands that have "covens of mortal Slaanesh worshippers in their thrall" and "detachments of battle tanks and combat walkers" (page 17), and there's even a picture of a Slaanesh dreadnought looming over terminators on page 32! Some weird-looking sonic weapon turret on a rhino chassis on page 31, as well. Why did they not omit/edit those references if they were to fully purge such things from the faction?

I’m beginning to wonder how The Studio/The Powers That Be view Chaos.
See, The Imperium is clearly split up across Marines, Guard, Sisters, Custards, Knights, Mechanicus and Imperial Agents. And Marines in particular are then sub-divided. And there’s usually a fair old amount of releases across them, marking them as Separate Parts of A Wider Whole.
But, when we look at Chaos Releases? Maybe it’s just viewed as Chaos. Not Legions and Renegades, Chaos Knights and Daemons. That each Codex is part of the whole. I say that as, if we do the same? Chaos doesn’t typically hurt for releases in a given Edition, they’re just kinda spread out. And in a way highly frustrating for players of a specific Legion. Certainly Chaos kinda feels like it’s still getting the 3rd/4th Ed treatment, where your Codex is a sub-Codex in principle.

I'd agree with this, their language over the last decade is very consistent and much like the preview image last year it was "treats for chaos". Many have, like myself, interpreted that as "treats for all of the chaos factions". What GW seemed to mean was "have an EC release and that's good for all of you right?!"

I'm not convinced that the Imperial factions are split up that way. I think GW treat 'space marines' and 'other imperials' as two separate buckets:
Space Marines: After the edition launch focus has been on the DA/ BA/ SW ranges, while others vary from nothing (Deathwatch) to single model or upgrade sprue ( GK/ BT?).
Other Imperial: Guard got the lion's share this edition at ~10 kits, with single models each for Sisters, Custodes, Knights, AdMech and Imperial Agents.
Xenos: By the end of 10th I expect this will be the largest bucket after marines, with medium-sized releases that look to be spread around several factions. Tyranids / Tau / Eldar have the most so far, with more expected for Votann and possibly DE / Corsairs.
Chaos: The new EC range brought 7 kits, CSM get 2 characters, with 1 kit each for the other factions.
Overall it still looks like Chaos are getting the least support, but after the edition launch the numbers are much closer across these four categories. This would explain why factions like Grey Knights aren't getting needed updates right now... they're competing against the long-standing marine chapters for this edition who are getting their first major overhauls since 5th/6th.
Kill Team has acted as a bit of an equaliser lately, with the last few boxes favouring Other Imperial & Xenos (and no Space Marines since 2023). Hopefully we see more Chaos KTs to help balance things out.

Given the leak of world eaters we can make some educated guesses on some of our crossover units.
1/ So far EC and WE have had a rhino based detachment. If death guard also get one it would appear that that’s a thing they want for us now.
2/ Foot Princes with Lone Op if near infantry are also WE and EC specific so far.
3/ Rhinos with new legion specific special rules so far have been very fluffy and effective.
4/ It looks like they’re not doing a purge of vehicles as we thought when EC came out. I quite like the way they made world eaters vehicles feel more world eaters with lower BS but rerolls of shooting nearest enemy and rapid fire.
5/ they seem to have detachments more focused on making certain groups of units better within the legions as opposed to fluff based archetypes. So far we know we are getting a vehicle based detachment/demons/ and reworked magic. My guess is our other 2 detachments are a rubric/terminator based one and the other is a tzaangor/spawn/vortex based one.

I hadn't thought of that. Its not a bad idea if you can get them at the right price.
I had thought that Thallax would be a good alternative though. There must be a good way to make the jump jets look like a multi-launch rocket pods
