A question I always have about Christmas related Christmas gifts: do you give them to the recipient a week or two early so the gifts are relevant to the season, or do you give them Christmas Day so the recipient enjoys them for twelve hours and then loses stores them in the closet for next year?

I have l anxiety about giving holiday related gifts on the holiday itself.

If you're concerned about giving them a holiday related gift on Christmas day, just remind them that the 12 days of Christmas starts on Christmas, so they have until at least January 5th to enjoy the gift before putting it away for the next season.

I just give them when I normally would. Even on Christmas day, decorations tend to stay up for a few weeks anyway.

They don't, and there is none, other than counting the days to the beginning of the Christmas season. The twelve days of Christmas traditionally start on Christmas and end the day before Epiphany (there are some variations with different denominations but that's the general concept). The idea that the twelve days of Christmas lead up to Christmas is a relatively recent misconception driven by the commercial Christmas marketing season. Advent calendars are for the Advent season that leads up to Christmas and the start of the Christmas season, or 12 days of Christmas that begins on Christmas day.
