WarCom has confirmed the 2026 Store Anniversary models - an Eldar Autarch and a Vampire Lord.
Nice pair of sculpts.

Autarch is pretty cool, looks to be inspired by the limited edition metal from the old army box set.
The vampire is ridiculous. How would they even swing a sword properly in that hideous, blocky armour?

Surprising, i would have put money on it being a Helsmith this time instead of another vamp. Decent sculpt though.

Wow. Both real nice.
The autarch isn’t so much better then the normal kit to make me drop money on him, but the vamp on foot is a lot more classic the bats-for-hair. (Who I don’t overly mind, but would prefer something else)

Being a Vampire is all about having ludicrous fashion sense and this one absolutely has it.
His entire role is to stand menacingly looking evil with his pre-blooded sword and make battle cries while skelingtons do the fighting.

The Autarch doesn't really feel distinct enough from the other Autarch models for me. Maybe if they'd given the top of his cloak a fur collar or something

Oh I like the vamp. I'll probably have to drop cash for him. I am mildly concerned about the size of base he's on though. It looks like a 40mm, which makes me think he's going to be huuuuge.

I'm really surprised its another Vampire for AoS. I cannot complain as I collect and really like the Soulblight force so I'm very happy to see it - just surprised as Vampires have had a really good run recently.
I also like the Eldar and it can go into my "slow grow" Eldar force at some stage once I can get hold of both
Kind of funny that the Anniversary Models are mirroring the Warhammer+. One Soulblight, one Eldar
Now if only GW would make that super insanely limited edition Wight King for general sale (or at least a promotion that's easier to get too than a new-3rd-party store opening)

Ok, that pistol makes no sense. So he has it holstered. Then when he wants to draw it, he also has to connect it to his forearm?
If not, then what's the point of a holster when your gun is permanently connected to your forearm with a huge cable? If you let go if it, it will just dangle and drag your whole arm down all the time.
And why isn't the back banner on his left behind, rather than in front of, the one on his right? If it's stiff enough to be standing straight out like that, how did it get to where it is through his head?

They have psycho reactive armour. The tube would be directed to extend out of the armour and connect to the gun when they hold it.
Everything they use and wear reacts to their mind. It's like a perfect black carapace across 100% of their body and can even work wirelessly to any item they hold.
Every eldar is psychic and everything they use is psycho active.

At least that pistol might actually fit in the holster. Every other Aeldari packs shuriken pistols with holsters that must use some form of trans-dimensional hammer space.

All 40k miniatures have extremely oversized guns. If you look at the size of the grip and trigger on the autarch, a normal 9mm pistol should be half the length of the dragon pistol. That pistol is longer than his arm, making it the size of something like an fnp90. The same problem exists with the heavy bolt pistols.
A personal peeve of mine is when people take exaggerated miniature scales as gospel and then do 1:1 scale cosplay or models using those scales, making things like bolt pistols look absolutely ridiculous. They also look stupid in art where they just painted a miniature as if it's a real representation.
It's usually most egregious with pistols and knives, because they're so small it's hard to make them look good on a tiny model. If you see an accurate 1/40th scale model of a cop for trains or something with a correctly scaled pistol, they can look too SMALL because pistols are so small.
But then you see cosplay with people swinging cinder block sized pistols around and it looks so bad.

Have people forgotten that Heroic Scaling is a thing that GW (and many other companies) do? Of course the guns are stupidly oversized. They're meant to be so you can quickly tell at arms length what any given model has.

there are whole chunks of the fandom that don't know what heroic scaling is to begin with.

In general I like both models, but the Autarch’s helmet is a bit weird. I think it’s supposed to be mandiblasters? It just looks like a foolishly large moustache, and Eldar are famously smooth shaven
A bit more seriously, the design language of the helmet lumps just seems to be different to other Eldar helmet accoutrements.

It's not even heroic scaling, there's also simple practicalities of having model parts not break when you look at them. You really notice this if you get into 3D printing cause you get a good few designers from videogame/tv back grounds come over and design parts that are very accurate, but they are so insanely fragile when printed.
Swords and spears often have blade and poles insanely thick in models.

Seem to be in the minority here, but these are incredibly underwhelming, bordering on bland. Putting aside the ugly, angular CAD chunkiness of the Vampire Lord's armour, they are perfectly reasonable sculpts - they just seem to be continuing the intermittent practice of releasing 'special edition ' type models that look like they could have come straight from a standard box kit with a minimal weapons swap / re-pose (see: endless waves of Primaris Lieutenants weith slightly different poses). Big meh from me, especially given the price tag that is usually attached.

Its the fire dragon helmet, no special attributes like banshee mask or mandiblasters, but fits the fusion gun
