Plague Marine Deathguard Conversion Kit

Chosen Terminator Deathguard Conversion kit

Death Korps of Krieg Weapon and Equipment Packs

Hello There,

It`s been some time since our last newsletter, and we have been incredibly busy here at Forge World in the interim, both in keeping up with the unprecedented amount of orders we’ve been getting and in preparing for the future release Imperial Armour Volume 6. If you are still waiting on an order, don`t worry, we will get your models out to you as soon as we can, and for those of you we have left craving new releases, we have some fantastic ones to announce in this newsletter in the shape of our Death Guard Terminator and Marine Conversion Kits, and our new Death Korps of Krieg Equipment & Upgrade sets.

Thanks
Alan Bligh

The Battle for Vraks Continues…
Imperial Armour Volume 6: The Siege of Vraks Part 2 will see a massive escalation in the brutal war between the loyalist Imperial forces and the renegades led by the treacherous Cardinal Xaphan. Of course, this means we will be producing an expanding range of new Chaos and Imperial releases to help you fight your own battles for Vraks or simply add some cool new models to your own collection.

The Lords of Decay
The first new re-enforcements for the traitors of Vraks are from the dreaded Death Guard Chaos Space Marine Legion. We have two new beautifully vile and suppurating conversion sets for these Plague Marines, both designed by Mark Bedford. Firstly we have our Death Guard Marines Conversion set which requires the use of the plastic Chaos Space Marine boxed set, and builds ten Death Guard Marines. Although intended to represent the Plague Marines of the Death Guard, you could also use them to help create your own legions of decay, Nurgle-marked Chaos Marine Havocs, or even Nurgle-marked Raptors and the like. The Death Guard Terminator Conversion set in conjunction with the Chaos Terminator boxed set, goes to make up five Death Guard Terminators, and of course can also be used to furnish your Nurgle-marked Chaos Space Marine characters and Nurgle-marked Terminators for other renegade forces.

As you can see from the pictures these are wonderfully detailed models that really bring the decaying ruin of the Death Guard to unholy life, and you`ll see more Chaos models and further re-enforcements for the Renegades in the coming months.

These models are all available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 7th of April.

Death Korps of Krieg Upgrade Sets
We also have some new and much-requested additions for our Death Korps of Krieg range in the shape of three Equipment upgrade sets, designed by Will Hayes and Simon Egan. These sets feature extra weapons and equipment in the patterns and styles used by the Death Korps. The first, the Death Korps of Krieg Weapons set contains five lasguns and two each of the grenade launcher, melta gun and flamer (one of each set with arms, and one unattached). The Death Korps of Krieg Equipment set features vox casters, ammunition, bayonets, demo charges and grenades, while the Death Korps of Krieg Command Upgrade set is made up of extra plasma and las pistols and chain and power swords, and weapon arms, as well as a set of five extra command shoulder plates to expand your command units.

As with the Renegades and followers of Chaos, the Imperium will also see an expansion in the forces fighting on Vraks, so you can look forward to more models for the Death Korps as well as some new forces becoming involved in the spiralling war we have yet to reveal!

These models are all available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 7th of April.

Imperial Armour Volume 5 Q & A
Also up on the Forge World website is a new Q & A document compiled by Warwick Kinrade for Imperial Armour Volume 5, which you can find Here.
Forge World Events
Recently Forge World attended Games Day Spain which was a great success, and as ever we awarded our own Forge World Best of Show Trophy, you can find pictures of the well-deserved winner and our previous awards Here.

Other events we`ll be attending in the coming months include Games Day France, Salute event in London, and the second Forge World Open Day. The Open Day is our own, free to enter event held at Warhammer World in Nottingham on the 6th of April. Full details of this exciting event have yet to be confirmed but we`ve started a web page for it Here which you should keep and eye on, as will be adding updates there as the day approaches.

If you would like to place a reservation order with us to pick up and pay for at the event for either Games Day France, Salute or the Forge World Open Day, please send us your contact details and a list of the items you are after to our special email address at fwreservations@games-workshop.co.uk, and we will do our best to have your order waiting for you. Reservations orders are subject to stock levels, so the sooner we receive your email the better your chances are of getting the items you are after!

More Chaos stuff from FW? Holy sh!t

Dig all the Typhus-pattern termi helmets, and the plague marine throwback style is entertaining to be sure.

Wonder what else Vraks holds for us Chaos generals. Hopefully not too much, I'm still waiting for my dread parts ordered 2 months ago!

The grenade launcher and flamer in the Krieg weapon pack are really, really nice redesigns. The swept hitl design for the powerweapon is really cool too. And it's nice to have plasma options for standard Krieg troopers.

The oldschool plague marines are pretty cool, but a bit more variety in helmets would be nice. I have the same feeling about the termis- the horns are cool, but not so much when everyone in the squad has the same look. That's just nitpicking, though. These will mix nicely with standard GW plague marines.

Nice! I'm loving the DG conversion kits - shame they're so expensive. Add the cost of that on top of the cost of a CSM box and I might as build a DG army out of the nice OOP metal DG off of Ebay. The Typhus-pattern terminator helmets are -really- nice, too.

The Krieg parts are particularly nice, too - the power swords look really nice, and while it's not hugely different, the plasma pistol has a little bit more of a swept look, making it look a little more "gunslinger"-style. I think the M-79 Thumper grenade launchers look ridiculously primitive for the 41st millennium, but the plasma and melta guns look really nice. The shoulderpads seem like they'd be really useful as well.

Has anyone tried building some Catachans with Krieg arms? I imagine they'd look really nice without the big Cadian shoulderpads.

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

While the new releae models are nice ...

Here is the best part... from the IA5 FAQ:

6. What happens if a heavy mortar’s Infernus shells, fired in the first turn, force an enemy unit to fall back off the table?

The enemy unit should not leave the table; just fall back to the edge as far as they can. Otherwise an army with twelve heavy mortars could force an enemy army off the table in the first turn (not much of a game). The Infernus shell doesn’t affect units that do not usually have to fall back, so vehicles and fearless units would be unaffected.

FINALLY!

I heard about these Krieg packs at Games Day Chicago and was starting to think they were just a rumor never to come to pass!

GREAT DAY IN THE MORNING! So happy. I can finally fix all those busted lasguns and laspistols where the flimsy barrels broke off. And I can finally have true command squads and special weapons teams. I've been proxying Kasrkin for Special Weapons since longer than I care to admit.

The gear pack is pretty cool, will allow me to load down some of my troopers who thought they got lucky with a light kit. But does anyone else see huge, giant problems with the small fiddly little vox headpiece bits? Has to be the tiniest, thinnest bits they've ever done, and I won't be surprised when they are all but lost entirely to mould lines and bad casts.

Also the Death Guard stuff is seriously tempting me to turn traitor...

And did anyone else recognize the Aspiring Champion from the Death Guard marine conversion kit? He was the marine in the Nurgle section of the old Chaos Codex. Very cool, but I'm starting to think FW gets most of their inspiration from artwork in the codecies (Rogue Psyker from the Witchhunter codex, anyone?).

I really wish they'd just gone all out and made complete resin figures for DG. Not only do the plastic components look positively cartoony next to the crisp FW resin parts, you also get a bunch of plague marines who's pustules and boils only seem to occur above the waist. For the DG dread they sculpted new Nurgley arms and legs rather that simply going the modular route - they should have done the same here.

I think they're great. As I bought the components for a Death Guard army a couple of weeks back, and part of that is 12 unbuilt plastic CSMs that I had spare, I can combine them with these conversion packs and they'll look awesome.

And I can even get some Terminators.

Oh god demn it!!! Those are nice! Wow... there goes my budget.

The only thing missing from the kreig sprue is a hand holding a bolt pistol.
Chaos is awesome, although it looks a little strange having a normal set of legs on top of heavily converted chest.

Agreed on both counts. Regardless of how good the sculpts are though, I can't bring myself to pay $40 for a set of torsos and shoulder pads. $75 for a squad of plague marines is a bit steep for me.

Not to mention the fact that they haven't fixed their supply problems yet. I made an order Jan 9th. I got my book 2 weeks later and the pirhanas February 20th. I cancelled the Tetras the other day because the best ETA they could give me was 2-4 weeks.... maybe.

If they're sucking now, I can't imagine how they'll handle the pre-orders they're likely to get. I'll pass on all things FW until they're shipping is back to normal and they can supply the demand.

Good luck to anyone brave enough to order from FW at this time. I hope you have a better experience than I did.

Those sculpts are pretty nice though. OH FW, please fix your supply issues...

Personally I just wish FW would take down the option for expedited shipping. They can't provide that service (I paid 44 pounds for 6 day international shipping and it didn't arrive for 2 months), so they shouldn't offer it.

My biggest beef with these is the fact that they don't have seperate heads. Now I know some have tubes and stuff so those couldn't be seperate but those termi heads would have been sweet seperate.

I really hope this means they'll be offering conversion kits for the rest of the Chaos powers.

In particular, Tzeentch Terminators would be amazing.

that's an awful lot of money for models for a sub-par and barely playable codex.

and by barely playable I mean: You might was well use the standard marine codex and get assault cannons and razorbacks.

For those of us who don't use 'Codex: Loyalist Marines With Spikes' and still use real Death Guard armies, these are great.

Definately getting some.

It could go either way. These are for the Siege of Vraks in which the DG is supposed to feature prominently. I don't know if Tzeentch shows up at all.

Does this mean that Khornate Terminator conversion kits are being sculpted as we speak?I guess it is possible, as some of the chaos renegades recently scuplted are clearly Khorne related, and not Nurgle.

I didn't get in to this hobby because it was inexpensive, and I certainly don't peruse the Forgeworld Newsletter for screaming deals. If it takes $100 to get five sweet god specific terminators, then so be it.

This isn't the thread for FW or GW pricing discussions.

I must say, those accessories are gorgeous, and I wish they'd done similar sets for Cadians, too.

The supply does not get to make the demands.
