I just wish they'd announce the release date of IA6 so I can work out what I'm going to get.
The Reaver is interesting though... but FW have become like their parent company - sneek peeks and nothing solid.

Hmmm... new Eldar Super-Heavy tank. I hope that's the Cobra done-up like the current Scorp. The Scorp is a dead-sexy tank, and a Cobra done on the same chassis would be fantastic.
And some other 'new' Super-Heavies. Hmm... IA5 already made me go out and get 3 Macharius'... I can't imagine what they'll do to me next!!!

About time! Looks like Forge World listened to the fans. The shape of the toes are different than those seen on the WIP model, and the leg appears to be positioned at more of an angle. A less drastic departure from the old Epic model maybe? Can't wait to see if they changed torso at all.

I almost hate to say it but I'm kinda considering buying one.. waiting for final pics to be sure.. and it would be my ultimate modeling project.. but I just kind of worry the time it would take to build and paint would end up being way too much and I would really just never finish it. At best lately I only get 1 or 2 nights of free time to work on models or play video games or whatever.. I'd hate to spend all that cash for something that ends up collecting dust. I think I would be afraid to transport and use it in any game no matter how big too, it would sit in a glass cabinet forever more. Not necessarily a bad thing but when I invite the ladies back to my pad I dunno if I want em to be like "why do you have a big robot over there..?", then I'll say "I built and painted it myself!" and they'll be like "OK, see ya"

That looks to be more like the size of a warlord titan foot. That foot is definitely bigger than my Armorcast reavers foot.

Even though i am an Ork player myself, I would still really like them to produce something for the Necrons. The Pylon was nice, but a few more items would be nice.

You may be disappointed. Notice how the updated structure of the inner "toe" is shorter, requiring the leg to be positioned at an angle.

I thought the dinosaur feet of the prototype, while more functional looking, were too much of a visual departure from the traditional Reaver design. This more graceful design kind of blends the two and also has elements of the old Jes Goodwin sketches.

Actually I think the later design is more functional - it's the same sort of load-bearing used in the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. I just happen to like the chunkier look better.

I'm liking the newer version too.
If they had of released this 4 months ago when I had the money to buy it, I would have, now I'll just have to dream, and admire the ones you guys are buying.

The only problem with their Reaver is that it's not really tall enough. It's only slightly taller than the Warhound. Reavers are supposed to be big.

I think you're right. I think it was the overall stance of the prototype that struck me as more functional.
kitsandbits wrote:i do like the new "toes" on the reaver , cant help thinking though ,they just glued the original ones (picture with grey resin) on the wrong way round?
I'm sure they're completely different sculpts. While the backs of both are straight, the fronts are different: the new ones have a concave curve to them while the old ones had a very slight convex curve on the front. And if you look at the profiles, the old ones look more like a pie wedge than the new ones. The new ones appear to be longer as well.

Yeah, I like the new feet better as well. They just look like they would support the weight better to me. The head (in the newsletter) looks cool, too.
Definitely looking forward to seeing this. Any word on the price?
