In the Imperial Guard background section of the 5th Edition Rulebook, there are several drawings of a Leman Russ that appears to have four-barrels. Could this be a hint of a new variant?

With the marines getting a new (variant) tank, I have to believe the Guard certainly will as well.

Along with the skimmer/flyer/transport/etc.

Good eye. Perhaps a non-ordinance, direct fire thingie? Exterminator on 'roids perhaps?

Oh, and it's because the space wolves use the LR-Exterminator.

I actually wouldnt be surprised to see the Exterminator get a new look and be re-released.

I think rumors are saying there will be a new sprue made for the russ that will have different turret options, so you can make the demolisher without metal bitz, plus the old exterminator that I think had TL Autocannons.. maybe something else, who knows. I wouldn't mind seeing a vulcan cannon version

just 1, save the TL version for the machurius and other bigger tanks

Also there was a pic floating around of what folks are saying is a new hellhound model based on the chimera.

yeah, but the exterminator will be a lot less useful with the new str4 weapon rule. god, that rule sucks, that is my one complaint for what i have seen of 5th.

I noticed that as well. There are very distinct Russes, Demolishers and something with quad barrels.

Could be interesting... but I don't want any more Russes...

I agree with Valhallan, true you cant move and shoot with all your weapons, but TLoS will let you fire at more targets than you could have fired at before. An even trade off IMHO.

John you need to spread that rumor throughout GW, mayhaps with the moniker "make this or the incriminating photos get mailed!"

Actually we aren't really talking about a new hydra model are we? They have four long barreled autocannon.

The reason that the "Space Marines" have a Leman Russ in their armor profile is because the Space Wolves are allowed to have the Exterminator and only the Space Wolves.

As for a picture of the Quad barrel Russ, its a thumb nail size picture in the black lined and white force org. cart so nothing really to see.

My money's on a Twin-Linked Multi-Melta

the sponsons are Multi-Meltas, so I think it would stand to reason that the main weapon should be equally potent.

I don't think so. The vehicle is clearly a Russ chassis with sponsons, not a Chimera chassis.

GW wants to make a model that IG players will want to use - a Russ w/ TL MM suffers from all the same problems that a Demolisher was and use of those is on the decline in 5E. If they're smart, GW'll make it a decent long-range weapon rather than something that only fires out to 24".

I guess it's easier to add new turrets for the russ but personally if they're gonna do a new tank I'd rather see em go all out and do the FW Machurius tank in plastic.. even if it's just the standard one and then FW makes upgrade kits like for the vulcan

I'd buy that for a dollar

Might be old news, bur I can´t see them in the web store at least..

Thank god. Those models are awful. But of course, GW can't have eldar if there isn't some model that desperatly needs to be sculpted. Next on out long wait is jetbike riders. (At least it isn't the years long wave serpent wait of 3rd edition though)

There has been a concept model of new jetbikes floating about on the web for weeks (months?), so it seems that both of these may be taken care of shortly...

Yeah, I remember the crying and moaning of eldar players, concerning the wave serpent. There was that weird armorcast model, but they got shut down hard..

does anyone have a picture of the rumoured hellhound? the guard tank kits are ancient now, aren't they nearly as old as the old rhino? (in years since creation,) surely they will have new verions soon. I'd guess they'll have the armour raised so the wheels/tracks drop out the bottom like the baneblade, plus new shapped (but similar) turrets with weapon choices. Also the sponsons would get a new look, not quite as mechanical as the marine ones, but heading that way rather than being a gun in a box.

These Warp Spiders are not new models, but conversions from the talented hands of John Shaffer.
