Got to assemble these guys the other day and listed it as part of my P&M blog.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/222067.page
First tip, base them to the back of the base, they were stuck in the middle and they teeter, all they need as a bump of the table and the lot go down.
The pieces slot together almost perfectly and the arms and heads from other kits fit.
Little things like mini rockets on the legs and the talons on th boots keep drawing you back to them.
The weapons on the model on the far left are my favorite with them being underslung and he looks like they are joysticks.
This is THE best plastic regiment GW has done, that I've put together.

Thanks for commenting on their stability and basing them at the rear of their base.
Wondering if modeling them directly to the base (instead of on that little portion that makes them look like they're flying) would make them more stable.

Agreeing with above poster. Considering how unbalanceed the (now) old Stormboyz are, it is amazing that GW does it again, Another proff that GW don't actually play their own game.
I'll definetly be looking into mounting them directly on the base.
Other than that, they look really cool.

Hmm, look like some great models in themselves. But I haven't been a fan of them sculpting every flying unit model jumping off of the top of a rock or whatever.

If ever there was a case for Privateer's metal bases, these sound like they might be it. Screw GW and their "model must be mounted on the base provided" ethos.

The bitz for a nob are there.
I don't recall a powerfist but I was assigned the job of boyz assembly, my source with the kit was doing another set with a nob and alot of the fancier gubbins.
Due to the tippy toe poses, mounting them to the base directly would need pinnings.
I like the raised look. Very, very dynamic.
The sprues we had were 5 to a set, didn't see the box (or instructions). And he had 2 sets.

I'm 90% sure we have seen pics with a PK nob...
They look great, my only concern is just having 5 different models - that means a whole lot of conversions for the 60 I want in my army, as I just can't bear to have 2 identical models. Oh well, they are a loota army...

From what Gonads said, they're compatable with every other Ork kit. So you've got these guys, plys the Boyz, Lootaz/Burnerz, Nobz, Bikes and, hell, even the Runtherd from the Gretchin box. Heaps of heads and weapons to choose from.

it's not the heads and arms that are the conversion problem, I'm sure they're totally swappable, it's the rokkit packs and torsos that worry me - at least, I'm presuming the torsos are designed specifically to hold the rokkits?

I see you've got them on slotted bases. Do they have slots to put them on the base, or is that just what you had? If they don't require the slot, forget a full metal base, that'll cost too much. Just glue nickles into the undersides. It's a perfect fit, and adds great heft to em. I pretty much nickle every non-slotted base I put together anymore.

A US Nickel ($.05) fits perfectly under a 25mm round (as long as it doesn't have the slot bit) and will do amazing things for the stability of ungainly models. Another option is lead shot. A bit more fiddly, but it works well.

Seconded.
These are *plastic* models, so they are far easier to stabilize than the old metal models ever would be. Worst case, you glue a nickel into the base and then hot-glue a 1" washer underneath.
But the very idea of comparing them to the old metals is silly.
Which reminds me to wonder when GW is going to convert the Nids Gargolyes to plastic...

I had wanted to start an Ork army awhile back, but decided not to because I'd never get them all painted. The introduction of yet more plastic kits that have massive amounts of interchangeability with all the other Ork plastic kits really gets the modeler in me wanting to do Orks yet again.

The body is one piece and designed for the rokkits.
Arms, heads and rokkits are interchangeable.
