For right now I've put down IG and SM... but if I don't get rid of the few ork and tyranid bits that I have I may start a little bit of those... really I wouldn't mind collecting a bit of each. There's something from each of the races that looks keen.

I really don't get why people play with space marines. First they NEVER look as cool as csm and on battlefield they are good at running away (FOR THE EMPEROR...we run away) and the models should only used as base decoration.

I voted for Space Marines, although I used to have a Dark Eldar army. DE was my first army.

I play SM, Orks, looking to get a full necron army, nids, Eldar (selling them) and Necromunda gang.

I've got too many armies. I rotate each month at the local tournies between my: Space Marines, Deathwing, IG, Witch Hunters, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Chaos, Orks, and Necrons.

I voted space marines because they are easy to collect!

If GW keeps selling space marines they'll keep making them. Do you see the problem here? If marines keep selling they'll keep making a new special character every 4 months and just about everything else, all of which is all a lot cooler than marines, will continue to languish.

ah, but GW needs to break the cycle. they need to make the xenos armies better and THEN people will buy them.

Orks
Space Marines
Imperial Guard

I do have models for:

Chaos Daemons
Tau Empire

But I didn't select those in the poll as I have so few, and really just wanted to paint a couple units and check out the kits. I'd like to start Armies for both Tau and Daemons (as well as CSM) sometime down the road, but we're talking maybe by the time 6th edition comes out.

It is multiple choice, you can choose as many as you want when it is square checkboxes. Circular radio buttons mean one choice, square means multiple.

I voted DE and Tau. IMHO the two most unique armies with play styles dramatically different from all the others.
Though I started with Tyranids, I can't say that I play or collect them anymore. In fact I should get rid of all my slowed 2nd ed Nid models...

I play Eldar, Orks and Tyranids...

@Lagduf: The SM are being sold the most, so they get the most updates. It's just a fact... about half the income of GW is SM or SM related... just look at the last 3 startersets, all three of them include SM, mostly ultramarine....
Some of the other armies like Orks were a bit abandoned(before new codex btw..) and SM kept getting new characters and extra updates...

I play Necrons and Daemonhunters.

I chose these because they seem a lot different from all the other armies, and are very underrated.

I also have a Carnifex that my grandma bought me, although she was going to buy a Monolith at first, she thought the Carnifex loooked scarier!!!

It's one of those 'chicken & egg' scenarios, isn't it?

GW does need to break the cycle but I think that they won't. They're too busy making money off of the same tired old thing. At this point I feel it's mainly our responsibility to make noise and not buy so much marine stuff.

And I definitely agree with your 'multiples' idea for this poll...

I have a Tyranid army as of now and I am starting to collect a Tau army. I tend to go from one extreme to another when it comes to games.

That would probably fall under witch hunhters. (They are a unit in the dex.)

I'm surprised it's only 18% for SMs.

My main army is a big Space Wolf force I've had since I started waaay back in 2nd ed.

Also have a combined Guard and Witchunters army, although I need to get some sisters for them.
