I have :

A very Warriors and Destroyers Necron army, with 2 Liths, Nightbringer and several lords. When plastic elites come out someday i'll expand further, but $14.00 for a non-character single model is a bit much. 4000 points, more or less.

Nids- Hive fleet Beltucader. I was out of 40k for about 10 years, and the Hive Mind drew me back in, shortly before it got Cruddaced... Maybe 3000 points?

Orks- Stupid numbers of Orks, I swear that they're breeding in my game room when I'm not looking (the ork way- a good scrap then grow from spores..) as i keep finding boyz mixed in with my other armies. Perhaps 8000 points worth?

Tomb Kings- just because I love undead. Maybe 1000 pts.

Tau- a small force that i never could seem to play right, and am in the process of selling.

Dark Eldar- a few models to tinker with

I also used to have Grey Knights and Sisters, but recently sold them on.

*edit- 10,980 pts of Orks, assuming everything as wysiwyg, rather than maxed out options. They're breeding i tell you!*

Chaos Space Marines, Space Marines and Tau...for now. More stuff is sure to follow once I get everything done.

I am currently running a space wolves and nid army. I played Iron Warriors for years before the Newest Codex came out at which point I head a quiet funneral and cremated them.

I got

Dark angels, Space marines, and tyranids

The first 40k model I ever bought was a Tau Crisis suit because I liked the sleek lines on the mech.

Then I got Sphess Mareens because they look awesome.

Then I was impressed by the spiky and started buying Chaos Marines.

Then I got Orks from the AoBR set...

And for Christmas I got a Genestealer brood with Broodlord.

So...

I have been slowly collecting and painting all 9 Chaos legions. 4 armies are finished. A 10th army for chaos led by Fabiu Bile (lots of renegades and mutated chaos marines.)

Have small groups of units for Tau, Eldar, Flesh Tearers and large group of Orks (all unpainted, some built)

Currently working on a converted army- Custodes that will be "counts as" marines of some sort.

Have a couple of Armorcast Titans, some painted.

Need intervention for this addiction or mass quantities of Beer !!!!!!!!!

Dark Angels and IG, might start a small nid and chaos force though...

CSM is the best i love the thousand sons they are the best of the fallen chapters of the space marines.

Necrons woo! Starting up Imperial Guard too, they're a nice foil to the low model count, completely inhuman nature and limited options of the good ol' crons.

'Guard all the way. I just love running things over with my tanks. I think I have painted two tanks for every ten guardsmen in my army.
I started a Blood Angels DOA force last year, and I have deeply regretted it, because they are simply not interesting enough for me to pull myself together and work on them, although I would really like to play them some day. So far I have only painted 5 assault marines, and I'm thinking a lot about starting either an Ork KoS or a CSM "The Purge" army.

I started out with a bunch o' Marine tanks, but the Forge World Elysian Drop Troops have been catching my eye. I picked up an SWS squad and it's about 50% painted, and I can say for sure that if I ever have a fieldable army, it'll be Aircav Guard. Those models are damn sexy, and I love the WWII paratroopers look to them.

Otherwise, I just have a bunch of cool stuff, although a little Marine heavy right now. I'll probably just be collecting cool models from here to eternity. Wants include a Wraithlord, a Leman Russ, some Killa Kans, Reaver Jetbikes, and a Valkyrie.

Tau and looking to start IG as I randomly have a valkyrie.

I play Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy.

My case is a bit different from many. I dont play 40k, but I buy the minis for other systems. I also buy some now and then just to build and paint. I dont really have any of what would be considered full armies, but heres what ive got:

Necrons: 1 squad and a Lord
Generic SM: 1 squad, captain, 1 scout squad
Eldar: 1 squad and a wraithlord
Orks: warboss & big mek
IG: 5 man squad & a sgt w power fist
CSM: 1 5 man squad in PA, 1 5 man squad based off DA robed bodies

I also have a whole bunch of customized/converted Terminators, loyalist, CSM and GK.

EDIT: Ive also got 2 Necromunda gangs...Orlock and Delaque

I have IG( I just love to shoot everything to pieces) and Daemons(its good to be evil)
I might start collecting Tau or nids.

I am just starting to collect Space Marines

Chaos, and i have just started Dark Eldar

Guard, Marines, Orks, and a very small amount of Tau.

I am pure tau.

As the sig says, Eldar and CSM, starting a small 1k IG for friendly games. Use to have SM and nids, but SM are too bland for my liking and nids well.... the new codex killed them, i would like to pick them back up but it'll have to be when a new dex is out. I also have a few random models that i thought looked cool so i got them lol

I don't play 40k, I just love painting the models, but at the minute I'm bolstering my Tau collection. Space Marines are limited with 'cool' looking models, so I went for Tau because I had more freedom to paint the stealth suits/firewarriors. They're different to paint because of the in-game cultural differences.
