It's not just inquisitors who get the augmentic surgery and juvenat drugs. Hive nobility, rogue traders, naval officers, titan princeps. It's a status thing. Surely a decorated, highly regarded imperial guard general would qualify.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

He might have spent some time in transit in the warp, where time does not flow the same as it does outside, so he could have spent 20 seconds there going between war zones, but it might have been a couple of years real time, etc.

Mind you, even though the general life span is short due to war, famine, etc, but considering he's survived battles rather then get shot up with the foot sloggers, it might just be a normal life span? I'm most likely wrong though

No it has everything to do with hie tactical genius. Without it he would have died as a whiteshield ages ago. It got him the status that's allowed him to live so long.
But, yeah lots and lots of drugs and tactial genius.

I would imagine that his ability to outflank a whole Emperor Titan so that it mysteriously appears from the depths of that coffee cup you just set down has some sort of effect on space and time. Perhaps every time he outflanks something large like that, it messes with his age and sets him back a few hundred years. That would certainly explain a lot

Actually, by fluff, unless you were an Astartes, member of the Ecclesiarchy, or a High Lord, proclaiming that the Emperor gave you the right to do something would be considered Heresy. So....

Actually, the answer could possibly lie in Captain Al'rahems profile. It says that although this desert fox was rumoured to have fought in some war during M.36 on some backwater planet, he is still alive and well. It tells us that (due to the unreliability of warp travel) this is entirely possible.

I'm guessing the Creed made a 20min pit stop somewhere, and found himself a couple of centuries in the future That and drugs.

That theory has some merit depending on his service record; it's doubtful if he's spent his entire career on Cadia.

He has most definitely not. He has lead the 8th Cadian thorugh all sorts of campaigns across the sector.

What fluff says he was around for 8th Black Crusade?

Good question, temprus. All I got is that he was found in the ruins of a hive or something.

Not sure why, but it seems quite a few Wikis have the 8th Crusade blurb. Which is funny, because most mention him being 50 years old too. Reminds me of the G.S. Goto Multilaser vandalism on Wikipedia. If somehow Creed was around for the 8th Crusade, why did it take them like 2000 years to promote him from Whiteshield to Guardsman. Wait, now we know WHY he is a Tactical Gerrrr, I forgot, we were not supposed to mention that in this thread, sorry!

I imagine that Creed is very much like Colonel Schaeffer in this instance.

The Colonel has lived over 300 years due to the fact that he is so useful to the Inquisition, everytime he is killed, they rebuild him.

The Colonel doesn't even own his own eyes anymore, had his spine rebuild after being crushed by a battle tank and techpriests GREW him a new arm after losing it to a plasma blast.

So, i think Creed can be ridiculously old because his superiors see him as useful, and repair him should he be injured, enhancing his lifespan.

Besides, the guys get a chance to let their FABULOUS! side out. - Fafnir, regarding male howling banshees

We have a life span twice what they had around 500 years ago and we're already predicting that that will increase another 30-50 years within the next 100 years or so, is anyone really that surprised that some planets 30,000 years + from now may have extremely long life spans in comparison to today?

Well it's estimated that even the healthiest human being could only live for around 120 years maximum. However, there's nothing that would prevent humans from living signifigantly longer if DNA manipulation came into the picture, which is something that is quite obviously possible in the 41st Millenium

Maybe the warp is the factor.Time runs diffrently than in materium.Remember when assasin emerged from the warp.Only 1 day passed in warp and 600 years passed in materium.Creed's lifespan is so long because of those drugs, warp, what ever etc... 8th black crusade in m37.999 from lexicanum.

I like using the stamp ocasionally anyway

There are probably scientists studying what causes aging in cells right now anyway. Besides, it's set so far in the future that reality should not be applied to it. That means the drugs exist and are given to higher ups to reduce their aging, so the Imperium can keep the skills they need and not need to replace them as quickly. Their only real other option would probably be to somehow copy their memories and personalities to some sort of computer. That is probably what would have happened at some point, until the events that lead to their mistrust of artificial intelligence. That would leave the only real option being the age slowing drugs. If I remember correctly they lost the technology to create new Dreadnoughts, I would have thought that would have been a likely option if they had not forgotten how to create them. Probably not though. But they probably had the drugs already created as, according to what I've read, ships can arrive to fights centries too late. This doesn't necissarily mean that they could spent hundreds of years in the warp, but that commanders would need to actually survive to report the situation to the reinforcements. If they were replaced the replacement might not know the entirety of the plan, this is probably very likely as well seeing how the Imperium is.

I agree though, time definitely travels differently in the warp. But, that is never consistant; for that is the nature of the warp. Time could flow faster or slower, no one knows because it is always different. I think it's a combination of evolution (both natural and artifical (DNA modification), warp travel (time can sometimes go backwards there) and drugs that slow aging. His tactical knowledge is also a big factor as with out it he wouldn't have been in the position to even recieve the drugs or the oportunity to live to the age he is now.
