Wretched and degenerate, blighted Nyss grotesques are winged horrors so twisted by Everblight’s power they hardly resemble the coldly beautiful Nyss from which they are descended. Driven by only the basest instincts of hunger and a desire to spill blood, these fearless marauders strike swiftly from the sky, converging on their prey in a cloud of leathery wings and slashing talons. The skies darken with nightmare shapes as the Legion of Everblight spreads terror and pain across western Immoren.

Tharn bloodtrackers are savage killers who become even more bloodthirsty and formidable when led into battle by their legendary hero, Nuala the Huntress. Pushed into a veritable frenzy under Nuala’s command, each bloodtracker moves with increased speed and agility, gutting her prey with one hand while pitching sharpened javelins with the other.

Is Vitruoso the one that lets you shoot if you kill things in your melee range? Sounds good.

But a bit light compared to the Fennblade or champion UA.

She will probably have some of what the Satyxis Captain got as well.

Does flight allow you to charge through obstacles/obstructions?

Now that I'm over the horror of flying Legion infantry (okay, I'm not still, one moment while I hyperventilate some more), I'm liking the models for the most part. The Reagan chin is a bit... interesting, but I can see why they did it (IK dragons all have the thing, and since they're blighted...). The wings are amazingly done though, with a great sense of movement, especially in the ones crouching to land/take off.

Virtuoso is the one that lets you make both melee and ranged attacks in the same activation, and is usually accompanied by Gun Fighter. Quick Work is the one that lets you make a ranged attack if you kill a model in melee. Both, of course, would be absolutely disgusting, and I pray it will never happen.

Flight is essentially Pathfinder on steroids, as it also lets you move through obstructions and other models. Doesn't let you draw line, I don't think, so obstructions, forests, and big models will still prevent charges, but still, the only things with wings that aren't SPD 7 are the Incubi and eThagrosh, and they've both got stubs. I predict severe annoyance.

The chins are a bit off but I see what they're going for. Overall I really like them and can't wait to add them to my Legion army. Can't wait to see what else is in the book too!

Man, where were those flying lads 2 years ago when I was looking for Storm Boy stand ins!

That Nuala though, I am thinking she has a great place in my WoC force... great model.

(Yes, I know you can use them for their own games, but I can't start a new game and army set. It would just be bad.)

The Grotesques would make good Furies too. Do people use those at all still?

I like the Grotesques except for their heads. They look like Trolls with very odd chins.

Give them Nephilim heads and I think they would look much cooler.

Might pick up Nuala and remove the powerfist and spears, give her saggy bare boobs and a old female face.

Really? They're called Grotsques? How similar to 'grotesque'. That's hilarious. Fitting, but hilarious.

It's like they knew they'd be bad.

Those guys look like someone's been raiding the Malifaux box a little too close for show.

Of course they look like a better price and whats not to love about masses of demon things.

Might as well use that old Zoradia the Hag from Malfaux, for a better choice. I haven't seen old hag wracks like I have on that new privateer one.

Actually, Malifaux doesn't have a copyright on winged daemons, neither on the Everblight Shark heads.
And neither on scantly clad huntresses (which are something completely different than hags BTW).

Tharn Bloodtrackers (which is what Nuala is) are probably inspired by Aiel Spear Maidens
more than anything else. Grotesques were probably invented when Leno returned to
Late Night and the concept artist was inconsolable.

But I'm with everyone else in the thread. Flying infantry? Ho-ly crap.

Tharn are kinda cool. I just hope people pronounce Nuala properly, and not in that god awful way it was pronounced in Hellboy 2. (Noola (roughly) not Noo-awla. Urgh)
Tharn have lots of gaelic words in their background- Tuath is the gaelic for clan or territory or kingdom, for example.

I'm trying to think how (in game terms) flying troops differ from 'Acrobatic', 'Pathfinder' troops. I'm pretty sure they already exist.

Nuala looks good, I'll be getting her ASAP for my Kromac 'the pimp' force.

Flying troops still suffer free strikes. Of course, used with Rhyas it doesn't really matter... Anyway, neither of the acrobatic units I can think of (Daughters of the Flame, Kayazy Assassins on mini-feat) have Pathfinder. There's ways to give it to them (Piper of Ord, Weald Secrets), but that's not quite the same. AFAIK, the only model with both naturally is Narn.

I suppose how harsh this is will be will come down to their SPD, MAT and P&S, along with their points cost.
