Hey Dakka!
I'm relatively new to 40k... I started up a small Necron army a number of years ago, but after going away to school I dropped out of the game (left most of my friends behind who played). Now I'm back with a Blood Angels force in the works, and my Necrons waiting in the wings for a chance to rise again.
I haven't played all that much, so I have a lot to learn. I've been browsing the forums for about a month now, trying to hammer down my list. I've already learned a lot, and am looking forward to continued growth.
My biggest challenge is the completion of my army. I enjoy putting together my models (and painting) almost, if not more than, playing a game of 40k. The problem is I lack any sort of artistic gift, and I just don't think I can make the army look as good as I have it pictured in my head. To that end, I've decided to sign up and get as much help as I can with painting and modelling. I've already read a ton of great advice in the forums, and some of the work I've seen is staggering. I can't wait to learn more and hopefully with a little help, create the army I've been dreaming about. 
I look forward to contributing to this forum as well, as I improve both strategically and (fingers crossed) artistically! I think it should be a two-way street. You can't just take from a community like this without offering something in return. Hopefullly this is the beginning of a good relationship.
