..well..... a lot happens anyway eh ?

.. Not sure I can get used to Horus being the good guy either

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Looks like it will likely be crap but could possibly be awesome.

So on the fence here. Have to hope for the best with this one.

So it's a fight between Leonidas of Sparta, Jaime Lannister and Captain Barbosa, set in Ancient Egypt? With monsters?

Cool.

After that trailer though... is there much left to see of the actual film?

Just some gratuitous T&A and of course The Finish Move

Flawless Victory!

I will admit I was momentarily confused by all the Celts in Egypt though.

Looks almost exactly like the remake of Clash of the Titans with Egyptian dressing.

Still, a better trailer than Warcraft got.

I dunno... personally, this looks like it will be a sort of "typical" martial arts film.

As in, gak story, but really cool visuals. Ehh, may be good for a couple hours mindless fun.

I heard most of them looked like their mummies.

Spoiler:

Slightly more seriously, this is a reconstruction of King tut's face. If there are Celts involved in this film, he's a few centuries further on.

Is it me or do those actors look a little... too Caucasian?

Seriously, if this is actually about Egypt, shouldn't some of them at least have a suntan?

I hope those were just stand-in CGI effects and not the final product. Unfortunately, fear overwhelms hope in this case.

The general consensus from my understanding is that they weren't the nubian super-dark that black people like to claim they are, nor were they the Christian Bale-tier anglos that hollywood loves tossing into these films.

They were like, mocha-colored.

If you look at the people around them they are also like 9-10ft tall. It seems they also might be a little to tall for 10000 year old Gods, as we all know. Nothing like the real gods at the time.

Well... Osiris and Set are both half animals so I am kind of upset we don't get to see an owl(?) headed dude parade around.

And the CGI depiction of Set is awful... I thought he was Anubis before someone said "You gotta come help us defeat Set..."

To be fair, Egyptian mythology has the potential for some very kickass stuff. Ignore the weirder side of it (like 90% of the Greco-Roman/Norse myologoy films do) and there's some good stories, interesting ideas, and done right the animal-headed Gods could be quite cool.

But this is not that. My first thought was 'Clash of the Titans: This Time It's Egyptian', which hopefully means that a few years down the line we'll get an unconnected sequel that takes itself a little more seriously and is actually pretty decent (Wrath of the Titans was a much better
film). In the mean time, pass.

When do we get the one about Horus fighting The Emperor instead? That I would watch the hell out of!

Is this 80's Clash of the Titans or remake Clash of the Titans that it is reminiscent of?
