What is the TLDR of these complaints? More diverse models is a win for everyone. The lines are pretty samey for the most part.
No problem with mixin it it up. If lore purity is a concern 8th should have people madder than some more lady minis.

Oh good, because it's been so long since we've had this "scare" come up.
Anyone who wants their "concerns" about diversity and representation making waves in their hobby to be taken seriously needs to not come out the gates with phrases like "SJW invasion".
Also, yeah - neither news nor rumour.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

They made more money and more people enjoyed their work?

He's scared GW taking seriously the concerns of people who would like to see greater demographic representation in the hobby means that the game will be "ruined" somehow.

I've seen what it has done to mavel's comics and the sales for said comics

In general, nobody who says “SJW” has any credibility. It’s all white males (or token “HE CANT BE RACIST HES JEWISH” ( you Ben Shapiro, you reactionary agitator ) minorities) complaining that they will no longer have 100% representation in media.
There’s a woman in the guard, the end of the world has come.
Also, sweet ing robo-Jesus, the comments on that Youtube video look like someone upended a bunch of homes, so all the “red-pill” neckbeards fell out of their mothers’ basements and quickly coagulated into a mess of body odor, frantic rationalisations, misogyny, and dorito crumbs.

The problem arises when the lore gets screwed over. Female space marines are a no no for me. They had their chance when primaris were introduced, but really it wouldn't serve a purpose other than pandering. But an all female gang like clan Escher is fine, and they've been around since what..the 1990s? They were designed from the ground up to be like that.
AoS and 40k already have diversity present. How people choose to paint their models is up to them though. It's also not all that sexist either, women are no more or less brutalized than men in 40k and everyone lives a hard life.
I'm not about to listen to hours worth of babbling though. I definitely don't want to see 40k go down the path of Mass Effect. Where gay characters are tossed in just to please people and its meaningless pandering.

And this is the root of the problem, people so used to seeing an all-majority cast in a media form, that when they see gay characters, or black/asian/indian/whatever characters, they immediately decide that it’s “pandering”, instead of thinking critically and wondering what a woman sees when they look at that game. Imagine looking at a game and all of the characters are minorities, or gay, and you can’t identify with any of them. That’s what women and minorities see on a daily basis. You’re not being discriminated against, you’re just not getting 100% representation at the cost of all else anymore.

I've never understood that complaint TBH - why do you care if other people are "pandered" to?

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

What I'm gonna do if only 5 of every 10 characters is a white hetero male? How could I fell represented that way!? At the end of the day this is all about money: Companies will do whatever they think is gonna give them more money. And if thats making black/female/homosexual/whatever characters, they'll do it.
If GW someday believes Female Space Marines will make them more money, they'll do it without a doubt. Theres nothing political about that, is just capitalism.
And to be honest I'm agaisn't some complaints that I have said like "Why aren't black guys in this game based in 1500 Eastern Europe?" that are just absurd. But today everything is pandering, without any critical thinking about it. People that just want to see politics everywhere and hidden agendas are the worst.
Arch-Warhammer, a guy that has jump on the alt-right wagon to gain more viewers (Bot from haters and fanboys) and money. A shame. I don't mix my hobbies with politics.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

The same lore that changes and evolves with every iteration of the game?
Like retconning Space Marine flyers into existence, or having Guilliman come back and touch base with Cawl on his super-secret super-marine project with new hover-tank tech, then jumping forward decades to make these "new" things into well-entrenched parts of the lore?
No one is going to like every change that's made to the lore, but to think that adding demographic representation to the setting will somehow "upset" some kind of "balance", or introduce changes that are somehow objectively "worse"...
I think that's people being disingenuous about what it really is that they don't like about those changes.

Not going to comment on the issue of diversity and inclusion in GW product. That's great if it happens, but I would understand if it didn't. It's the Grimdark, after all.
Those videos though... is it just me or do the people reacting to "SJWs" publish videos more frequently than the other side? It's very easy to find feminist blogs complaining about representation in games. It's a lot easier to find videos complaining about feminists complaining about representation in games.
Several years ago, a kid and his mother came into an FLGS where I was 'working.' This was not long after the 6th Eldar Codex hit, he was there to buy an army. After some conversation, he had picked out a ton of product - most of it had to be mail ordered.
Everything together added up to a little under $3,000. His mother had sticker shock, she was angry he was trying to get her to spend this kind of money. To get her to pay, he told her 'But it's an all girl army. They need our support or they will stop making the models.'
At the time, I thought it was someone being clever. In retrospect, I have a feeling this was a conversation the two of them had before, and he knew what button to push to get her to pay.
Feels like we're at the point where everyone is just repeating what the other side expects to hear. While it's great that those pushing for greater representation in games are dauntless, I fear their detractors are out-publishing them.

In a nut shell diversity means get rid of lots more whites
All my Khorne Bloodbounds dudes are semi-naked black guys with White-bone armour. They are a horde army and die at droves, and it makes me happy because that makes Khorne happy.
I'm a racist? But what kind, anti-white or anti-black? Should I paint them white?

I seem to be missing the part where “professional victims” are “getting rid of” white people. Is that a part of that planned civil war that will take place yesterday, a secondary part of Jade Helm, or the result of Barry Soetoro’s 9/11 chemtrails? I really can’t get my genocidal plots straight, you’d think that (((they))) would have succeeded by now.

Ah man, I keep missing my Antifa meetings. I should really attend more often, the last time we took over the government was very productive. How have you guys been getting along with that initiative to rewrite the Bible to make Jesus gay for Moses?

Ah, good. I hear the lizard-Jews have the event where Merkel tears off her meat-mask to reveal her true lizard skin next Tuesday at 8, so we have plenty of time to cover up Obama (((Barry Soetoro))) using a weather control machine to make Hurricane Katrina do 9/11. I’m off to go pick up my gay black Jewish boyfriend at the military abortion clinic, so hail Satan and have a good night, comrades.
