Pretty silly as our collective procrastination is far too powerful.

I don't have a painting backlog.

This is mainly because I don't tend to get new stuff until after I've painted the previous lot, so if anything, the "backlog" is only what's currently on the painting table.

I have a list of other projects that get pushed back because the weather doesn't want to play nice (I don't do roof work when it's wet, for example).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

The philosophical part of me wonders if its actually something to show us how selfish we are, to reteach us the value of community, and some of the perils of globalism. However, that's just my thoughts, I'm sure you could put whatever spin you wanted on it to suit any narrative.

Personally I'm using it as an opportunity to look outside our usual routine and step back to nature a little bit. So if anything it's the opposite of an introverts life for me.. At least until lock downs are initiated.

'Back to nature' is a classic introvert maneuver. It tends to induce poetry about ponds, paths, and agrarian idylls.

He'll finish that series when we finish painting our minis, and not a moment before.

The real truth behind the Coronavirus pandemic is that it's GWs marketing campaign for the Death Guard PA book. You read it here first!

I very much doubt that there's any kind of higher consciousness behind the COVID-19 pandemic but this virus is definitely humanity's final warning. This pandemic will go down in the history books as either the wake up call for humanity that we will eventually destroy ourselves with unrestrained capitalism, globalism and greed or the beginning of the end of civilisation as we know it. And I'm not even joking. I wish I were.

It will definitely lay bare how horrendous we've allowed inequality to become, how twisted our priorities are and how rampant corruption has eroded everything truly important.

I'm afraid it is. We have brought COVID-19 upon ourselves primarily because of the way in which we interact with animal life on our planet; to consume and make profit off of it. This virus, and (almost?) all epi/ pandemics from recent history are so-called zoonoses. This means that the virus that causes it has been transmitted from animals to humans. Things like SARS and HIV are zoonoses for example. COVID-19 is as well. It transmitted from carrier animals (animals that carry the virus but don't get ill from it) to humans on a Chinese animal market. The true sources of the virus are probably bats.

Now look at humanity. We keep billions of animals locked up in way too small spaces. And invading the last truly wild places in the world to forcibly remove animals from their natural habitats in order to use and consume them, bringing whatever unknown plagues they carry with us. This behaviour makes it extremely easy for animal viruses to make the jump to humans. We are extremely lucky that this virus, while extremely contagious, is relatively mild. The next one however, might well be as contagious as COVID-19 and as deadly as SARS (which wasn't very contagious at all, which is the reason why we thankfully managed to eradicate it before it could grow into a pandemic). Then we'll truly live in a real-life horror movie. And if we don't do anything about how we interact with other life on our planet it's not a matter of if but when it will happen. A realistic chance it'll be during our lifetimes. But that it will eventually happen is a given if we don't change our behaviour.

And then there's also that other big thing that we are threatening to cause by our greed: catatstrophic, irreversible climate change that will render a sizeable chunk (as in 30% or (much) more) of the planets' landmass uninhabitable for humans.

So yes. Hate to break it to you and I hate to sound like some kind of insane doomsayer, but unless we as humanity change our ways it will be that apocalyptic.

Many believe that virus was released due to faulty containment procedures, or accidental release (human error), at the Chinese infectous disease/biological warfare reasearch research center in Wuhan. The novel corona virus can infect bats. However, eating bat soup, with actual bats in the soup, is thought to have contributed to the spread, rather than being the initial cause of Human infection. In either case, there would have been an outbreak, bat soup or no, because airborne transmission is the primary means of spreading from vector to vector.

No, it isn't. There is no evidence whatsoever that bat soup was involved.

We also probably don't need two separate theads here.
