Not available for Christmas? Noooooooo! £38 is bloody brilliant though.

The existing expansions are compatible with First Light, if I remember rightly? I was thinking of getting Return of the Witch Lord, specifically.

Mostly, yes. You'll need a dragon miniature and it has some new magic item cards, but otherwise it's mostly just a lower cost main box set alternative. The dragon stat card has been uploaded online to reddit and facebook, I'm sure the other cards are out there too

I must say that its pretty good of Hasbro to do so, allowing the community to fill in the blanks.

GameNerdz Deal of the Day : HQ Frozen Horror : $30.

44 copies left, ends at 10am pst.

EDIT : "This was under $20 on Amazon last year which is why this is not selling well, 47 of 65 copies left. The dice in the latest version of this expansion get raves. It is VERY difficult which has generated some negative comments.

Man, I got it from FLGS for full price recently!

Let me know when Dread Moon goes on clearance will ya!

The Mage in the Mirror box is a great set of new furniture, a male elf, and some good ideas in it. The Elf warriors are good foes too. If you want to know more about it, I reviewed it on my blog:

Yeah. The Dragon is a tough cookie. But if you’ve completed the base game, by the time you need to kick all its fangs out, you should be plenty prepared in kit and caboodle.

found with most monsters unless you either give them an ungodly number of body points or let them save on white shields they just go down far too fast once two or three heroes gang up, especially if they don't have some way to attack more than one at once. could be a wonderful spectacle, until three crossbows open fire then some nutter with a battleaxe piles in.

still, its fun, have found adding "immune to ranged attacks" to one or two monsters, not too many, they paid for the weapons after all, but a few helps

hoping its the same sculpt though and I really like that one

So, does anyone hope this is a Dwarf focused box? I mean, we have one for the Barbarian, one for the Elf, and one for the Wizard..... it only seems fair for the Dwarf to get a special box too!

I’m glad to announce I’ve managed to acquire early versions of the unreleased Wizard and Dwarf quest packs from a person who was involved in the development and review of the four north american quest packs in 1991-92.
Hasbro applied for registration of trademarks for the name of all the four quest packs in October of 1992, albeit only “The Frozen Horror” and “The Mage of the Mirror” came to fruition. The other two applications were abandoned a year later, never to be used again. Work was indeed proceeding simultaneously on all four packs, but apparently the Barbarian and Elf packs managed to secure a release, albeit being partly untested themselves as we’ve discovered. It has been confirmed the Wizard pack was further in its development stage compared to the Dwarf pack (final material ready VS. final material to be created yet based on latest notes).

Some info about the Wizard and Dwarf being shortchanged.
