Yes, the little details always make terrain more than just a line of sight blocker.

Thank you everyone. I just finished building the second batch of ruined buildings and I'm spray painting them right now.
By tomorrow I'll start the weathering and wallpapering. Maybe by next Monday I will have something to post.

Small update; I finished part of the second batch. These are the small buildings.
I haven't kept up with the current rules on terrain. I'm not sure if these count as building ruins or just scatter terrain?
But here they are, four segments, usable as two structures or four smaller ruins.

OK, I did get something done. I made my own Inquisitor Coteaz, because yuck!
I did have his original hammer from a conversion I did years ago, but I could not find the Eagle.
But I did find a very Old Hammer vulture in my bits box. I just thought it would be fun to have a Psyber Vulture.
The next one is a jump chaplain made from bits from four separate editions of 40k and a few 3D parts.
The lower legs are made from chaos parts with Primaris shin guards and green stuff.
Finally I made a paint holder to keep my paints in their bottles and not on my table.
So yeah, progress.

It still counts as working on minis.

Nice space marine conversions! I like your Coteaz better than the standard model. Great work.

Nice work, that vulture is properly cool! As for Coteaz himself I can kind of see what GW wanted to do, but he just looks a bit derpy with his short fat legs. The Primaris legs work well on yours for sure

Thank you, It would be hard to make a worse one.

Thanks, the vulture was just too funny not to use.

I finished painting two models today!!! Yeah me! I'll post pictures later.

I also spent several hours sorting through all my bit boxes and I found an old bits invoice from GW from 20 years ago in a box full of metal gretchin.
There is enough heavy metal in my house to kill off a decent size city. I found all kinds of things I can't remember where they came from.
There were 40 fully painted Death Guard and an unassembled old version of the Landraider Redeemer with metal parts in it. Boxes of unmade Dark Land Orcs, zombies, Eldar and two boxes full of Armorcast ruined cathedral terrain pieces. I also found a box of rave lights that may explain why I can't remember buying any of it.

OK, here they are. A new chaplain and baby chaplain from Honoured of the Chapter box set.
The Ancient and three Blade Guard are what's left to paint.

Nice work on the chaplain and judicair.

We head-swapped the opposite minis. I left the cyber-skull on my chaplain, as that’s a running theme for them in my collection, but didn’t like the stock helm on mr. Executioner. Like the effect you got on it though.

The Coteaz custom is quite a step up from the new model. I am digging the Chaplains, too.

Thank you both. I have a big thing for chaplains.

I've been wanting to do a few statue terrain pieces for a long time and pick up these Army Painter colors to do an old bronze statue.
I haven't picked out a statue yet, but did this as a test. I started with a full coat of Verdigris, then a very heavy dry brushing of Death Metal (You have to love that name) which is a dark dirty looking bronze. Next a light dry brushing of True Copper, followed by a very light highlight of Greedy Gold. It was really fast and simple. Just thought I might share it if anyone who is looking to do weathered copper or bronze.

That’s a really nice result.

Making some SM statues with old 2nd ed push-fits has been on my to-do list forever. I figure a paint job like that, some cake pillars to stand on (and have toppled over with) would be a good use of the ultra-static poses.

Anyone who doesn’t like chaplains is probably a heretic and needs to be purged. I don’t have the same level of overindulgence with them as I do with captains, but do have a larger portion of the chaplency then is sensible.

I was thinking something similar as I have a bunch of unassembled or old eBay models to work with. I did just ordered this Warhammer style priest in 75mm to make into a statue last night.
He could be some noble or an Inquisitor. I can make a plinth for him and an Inquisitorial symbol are easy to make from scratch. In fact I just remembered I have a big resin one from Forge World.

Statues with older minis is a great way to use them effectively while also not letting them rot away in a box of 'old things' Loving the work and the building floors - anything that breaks up the 'all grey all the time' ruins.

Thank you both. The 75mm mini is on it's way and I'm sorting through my old first born for statue possibilities.
I painted up Father Feirros as a red tech marine as I picked him up in a box set. It is a small experiment as I painted him almost completely with speed paints. It came out OK, but it won't be replacing my regular paint. I do have a bunch of orks I need to paint and I think speed paints would work for them, just not space marines.

Up next in the painting queue Jump Chaplain.

Nobody's messing with that mechanic. I look forward to the results of the =][= statue.

Thanks, I do have one more regular Primaris Techmarine to do and I'm may also do him in speed paint so they match.

The Jump Chaplain is done now. I tried something a bit different with him. He's more de-saturated than my other chaplains.
I almost did source lighting with those candles, but decided he's not really posed right to get a good effect with that. He has a simple look and I like him.
Best of all he's a Franken-mini made completely from random leftover bits, so he was free.

So, I spent another day with my indoor archaeology project searching through sealed ancient repositories of Dark Age items.
I came across a 4th ED starter box with my Aquila lander, so more finished stuff for terrain, yeah!
