That is right lads, we are back! This round I thought why not start off fending off another silly heretical apocalypse with our finest, and mightiest? That is right! this is the Hero round. The goal of this is to make a hero model, who... well, has to be a hero of your army for some reason. This is a great way to get those head quarters done, and yeah! Why not?

oh and a Wip and a Finished shot is all we want an need

Rules and Doo Dads
Model must be a 1 figure entry - standing over dying corpses and the such is fine
Model must be painted - even if you are not the best gold deamon status painter - this category is only a mild scale tipper

Painting as follows -will be judge be effort which includes, but is not limited too:
Spoiler:
highlighting
washing
OSL
gem effects
power weapon effects
weathering
and lastly freehanding

Basing is also a requirement and a hero really cant be complete, unless he is based anyways so i don't see the problem at all here.
Main judging will be done based on the rule of cool

Any questions? Please post, quick responses by Papa and I are to follow, if you want to ask a more personal question PM me and or Papa nid.

Prizes? oh...those silly things..
Yeah guys there is gonna be prizes, but honestly i am only doing this to make you compete among each other for greatest dakka hero.. nothing big.
Just one of the most fantastic titles ever awarded over any of our competitors. Did i mention their will be a trophy?
There is going to be a trophy!
Now get to it!

FIRST!

ok.... i gotta join this... i know i joined some comps recently... unable to finish them... but i sure want to see the end of this one finished with a hero of mine...!

must it have to be a hero that would be able to be played for a list? or may we go for a complete model by the rule of cool?

I'll join in as well. Good excuse to do up a proper sized Orkuisitor for the Orkuisition, ooh and it could be used to update my sig picture now that the orks are rising. And Well, Trophy! LOL.

BUT...you sell your stuff from time to time... me...i am the typical hoarder...^^ i am currently ammasing stuff i probably never get done^^

by the way... any suggestions as to what i should be making? my current thought would either be a fitting shrike attaption for IG for my own steampunk army...or...make the long planned captain america out of an guardsman...or maybe something totally different???

thing is, I've not been into 40k for about 3 months now, and I doubt I'll properly get into it again for another year- at the moment, I'm all about lord of the rings, which has two classifications- basic troops and heroes, and I have all the heroes I need.
So yeah, it depends if I think of anything specific (and/or get round to doing it ) to do for it.

You could always start a fantasy army

never really appealed to me- the style's a bit too... I dunno, unrealistic? I know what I mean
plus, I never liked armies which you control in blocks- if there's a 1-man wide doorway that needs defending, I don't want 20 men sitting around there when two guys could be doing the same job.

Warhammer doesnt exactly work that way you know

yeah, but it's the whole look of it- lord of the rings and 40k look more realistic because they're not travelling in blocks, but as individuals. It also offers more of an opportunity for converting, because in fantasy, you have to consider that your model's going to need to fit in base to base contact with four different people around it ^^

So, does this need to be a brand new, never seen before hero for this competition, or will an already WIP be okay? (Or even a previously completed hero?)
