I will be building the fine Badab War era Minotaurs, full of mystery. And love. And bull$#@%.
Last update for a bit, I am out of pocket this weekend, so no progress will be made.
Maybe this will tide you over!
I had to chisel off and re-position the ammo feeds, because, well, they'd cut straight across where the commander/gunner sits. Yeah. I know I shouldn't expect logic from a TOY...BUT I DO.
Not enough? Well, TOO BAD!

So shall I assume that your predator will be able to come apart, then? You're putting a heck of a lot of great work into the interior for it not to...

For the most part, yes. If you look back in the plog, or in my WiP gallery, you can see the chimera I did a detailed interior for. These Predators will all have interior mini-dioramas, and I'll magnetize the basic vehicle options, sponsons, etc.

I didn't do it! I was just overwhelmed by his majestic presence and had to turn away for a moment. When I turned back his torso had gone. It wasn't me, I didn't press that buton over there or anything. Don't look at me like that, I didn't.

All right, all right, just stop staring at me like that. I did press that button, I couldn't help it. It was so red and shiny it was just calling to me. I pressed it there was a big flash and then he was only half here. I didn't do anything with him, I just pressed a button. It wasn't even a big button. Just a tiny red button. Please, I didn't mean it.
Please, stop looking at me like that.

I am so installing a tiny red button. Automatically Appended Next Post: And some more internal notes.
Ordered more bitz: Control panels, pointing arms, command bitz, close combat weapons. All told, about $50 worth. Passed on some Rhino Panels, just going to have to make my own.
Settled on a paint scheme, now the epic debate: Forge World Minotaur Decals, or somehow make/mold Minotaur Shoulder Pads and Iconography?
Decals, obviously, are easier, and I'm in a time-crunch as I need to start playing this army ASAP.
Thoughts?

Test fitting of parts. I started magnetizing the thing, and then I realized that, due to the dioramas inside, there's just no point. It will always be a Predator with Heavy Bolter Sponsons.
Anyways...
Nothing's permanently glued in, yet, just a test fitting to make sure my various interior details haven't prevented me from assembling the model. Always do a sanity check!
Things to note: Landspeeder 'bumpers' as extra turret armour. Pieces from the Flamestorm Cannon as the supercharged engine.

That 'extra armour' fits in very nicely.
If time is of the essence then I'd say decals, unless you already know of a handy source of some suitable icons?

Not a lot of work this weekend, still waiting on some bitz. Sigh. Got my stormraven pilots, tho', so that'll provide me enough drivers and gunners for the foreseeable future. Built up the Engine Compartment for the Baal, and added two Heavy Bolter Ammo Cases to either side, in the troop seat niches.
NOW this tank is "Fast".

Well! My most recent order of bitz arrived, and that got me the kneeling legs I needed to finish the interior! Now...I have to paint it.
Say hello to "Dutch", the commander/gunner, and Dillon, the driver. I cannot be held responsible for "Dutch" speaking in an Austrian accent. Because he will. Oh yes.

HELLO!
Bitz are coming in! Someone sent me a box of...well, I don't know but it'll be here tomorrow! I hear it has 40K stuff in it! And maybe a busted Xbox.
But that's not why you're here! You're here to ask why the heck I'm not actually painting anything.
Well, that's because my brushes are possessed by demons. And not those nice Golden Demons. Oh, no. I'm afraid of them. They're whispering to me.
So, instead, I built bases for all 18 of my Marines. Yeah. I know. Exciting, isn't it?
Let's go to the big board!
And now with sand:
Tomorrow, I'll be priming these bases and the Baal Predator, and then you'll see something! YEAH! (*)
--B.
(*) You'll see a primed Baal Predator, and 18 primed bases.

So, a friend was cleaning out his closet and house, and decided to pass on his 40K Dark Angels army to me...
2 Razorbacks, 2 Dreads with all the fixings, 5 Bikes, an Attack Bike, 2 Landspeeders, a ton of metal special characters, old metal marines, plastic marines, jump troops, metal scouts, 3 Terminators and a handful of Eldar and IG, including a Vindicare Assassin. Plus bags of spare parts, paint, OLD transfers including the old banner and bike flags, a box of Chaos Fleshounds, and all the AoBR Orks.
Plus some random blisters, including the 2010 Games Day Chaos Sorceror.
I'ma gonna send him a nice card.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |
