Huh, how odd that they would alter a mold just for the logo on the base.
Anyway, I need them all.

Sorry if I've missed this earlier in the thread, but has there been any mention yet of what format the rules will take?
Also, who is writing them?
Finally (this is the last question) will there be any community/beta playtesting? (has this already been done?)

I was considering The Walking Dead game till I saw Project Z. I'm sold on this game, and as long as the rules are good I'm in. Love the biker models

Yeah, I'm not into $40 packs for a few figures and a rare equipment card (before you ask... no, I don't own any X-wing product either), especially when that sort of money gets me 30 modular HIPS miniatures, likely of superior quality, too.
And I already own a box each of WGF male zombies, female zombies, male survivors and female survivors. So I just need a box of bikers and soldiers.

I believe (based on Warlord's typical product lines) that it'll be available as a standalone rulebook sold individually (probably with a limited edition model), or a boxed starter set with 2 forces - similar to Bolt Action, Hail Caesar, GoA, etc...
Not sure about community playtesting or who the writer is.

Given that they said the initial starter box will be about £35, I would guess they are doing the same as terminator with an intro box, a box with full rule book and just the rule book.
Interested to know more about the rules... Curious to know if it is a modified version of an existing system, or something new. How would the terminator core rules stand up to this sort of thing?

The Terminator rules belong (such as these things can) to Alessio/River Horse. I guess we don't know how much it'll be PVP or PVZ. It could easily be another game based on Bolt Action, along with the Weird WW2 game coming out later this year, but BA might be considered too "big" a ruleset for something like this, which you'd potentially expect to be more Necromunda-to-SAGA sized

I'm not familiar with Warlord bundles. What can we expect for £35? A sprue of survivors, a sprue of zombies and the book?

Given that under WGF, the sets of 30 Zombies/Survivors (3 sprues in each set) were about £16 each, I would not be at all surprised if the starter box had, say 1 sprue of Soldiers, 1 of Bikers, the Biker Hero the mentioned, 10 survivors and 30 zombies plus a mini rulebook in the starter...

So if I understand right, that's:
43+60 Zombies (box plus one of each set)
10+60 Survivors (same again)
However many Bikers are on a sprue+ in the box
I'm guessing 24 Soldiers (3xsprue of 8 would be my estimate).
No way I'd ever need that much, but that's a lot of mini for your money...

Warlord... if you're listening, PLEASE offer a similar bundle online for those of us half-a-world away. :-p
If this is a nice, lean, fun game akin to Frostgrave, or even built off of Bolt Action, I will happily throw $200 at you guys!

What's the problem with Salute ? It's easily the most impressive UK show (both in terms of display stuff and opportunities to spend money!)

I've only been once but I really enjoy salute. It would be worth going just for the large displays they have on. But the free miniature the preview of new models and lines along with the participation games made it well worth last years visit and I will certainly be returning. But hopefully I'll spend less this time

It's all a bit rushed tbh. Yes they have nice displays and demos and some good sales etc but I find ig all a bit lackluster. I haven't had a free bag the last couple of times either even though I've prebooked my ticket. The Warlord stand was horrible last year. Absolutely no room to move around at all and I found the staff to be rather rude. Personally I enjoy the UK Games Expo in Birmingham a lot more then Salute, the games demos are more fun, much more relaxed atmosphere it's over the entire weekend and not crammed into a single day and there are various tournaments that can be attended as well. I can see the Expo taking over from Salute as the number one UK games show.

I think he means that there's so many of these new projects that get put through KS, a long wait time is becoming the new normal. To see something almost ready to release at retail is a nice thing to see!

Definitely agree the Games Expo is a good one, really cool atmosphere and much better to sit down and enjoy a game, although I keep getting lost between the rooms

Keep getting a brief flash of the preorder site before it poops out a 404 error, no luck in getting it to freeze in the middle of loading, subbing here for quickest news.
Caught most of the screen that pops up when I click the preorder, some kind of mega deal thing.

I'm not honestly sure if that 'deal' holds up to the value I was getting from WGF. I think I found my kits on Amazon (and Amazon is rarely a place to get your models 'cheap') for maybe 16-20 bucks which is not insignificantly under a buck a mini. The vehicles listed in that bundle are surely bikes, which barely count for more than 2-3 minis, and it's in pounds so... what... almost $170? Paying a lot of rules and game aids. But maybe that's why its 404ing, the page isn't done or correct.
