ork-gasm....hmmm.... since these fungi men have no means and no intention to go for such a thing... interesting idea what an ork-gasm would be like

since this is mainly still an imperial thread... there needs to me some stuff shown here that still is used by the IoM...

so...how about some bastion?...

maybe if I feel like it I will make it illuminated...it is after all currently completely hollow inside...

hope you´ll like, tomorrow I will show work on the walls of the balcony...

details are happening as we speak... look at these poorly pics below... treadplate for the platform for instance...and of course the lightshow could be called a mere "detail" too

Red Harvest wrote:Vik, are you cloned? One person cannot do all this so quickly.

Very interesting bastion. Totally go Brutalist with it.

brutalism is always the way to go with imperial stuff...(tho I wish to do some Victorian bastian one of these days too...)...as for the cloning... well... I am a dad at home atm so I have to watch over my two sons and this is mostly free time for me, as they are out of the "needs- to- be- played- with- continuously- zone" which doesn´t say that we don´t play together from time to time nevertheless....
also I just wresteled myself free from a tummy bug that made me not in the mood to be on dakka that much... my backlog will be extreme I think...
also...I think I worked a bit forward due to our summer vacation coming up the coming Saturday... so I needed a b it of hobby dose to compensate the week without it

DiDDe wrote:Vik, Vik, Vik.... is there any other way to go? of course you will make it illuminated!

I am currently playing around with odd shapes ...geometry is a nasty thing when it comes to you at a certain age ...
and see below for any lights ^^

Camkierhi wrote:Great shape, interesting to see if you add butresses. Like the sound of balconies. Remember now, no glyphs for this one, only birdies!!

it is a question I am not able to yet answer wether buttresses will be appearing... needs to be working with the style that is currently forming... and where to place them to not be a LOS blocker...
and of course no glyphs...need to see if decals are the way to go or if I want to tackle some birdies in thin PC....hmmmm...

storag wrote:the guns few pages ago are awesome, Vik! The other stuff is great too, but dakkas touched my orky heart )

I take that as a big compliment... and may I say... we need to see some green hides soom made by you too... you´re so entagled currently in all aztek that this has vanished from your workspace...

thanks mate... big compliment!...and I want to see an orky titan made by you... also it would help to complete your list of scratch build titans (tau, elder and I bet I missed still some...)

well as mentioned above I was a bit sidetracked with a tummy bug... my cooking seems to have worked against me it appears...and the sun has had its hands in this affair a bit too...I really hate too hot nights... also my family and me are four days away to be on our summer vacation to the german Baltic sea...hopefully a nice place we´ve chosen....

well...but for till then I am working on my bastion....as also mentioned above...lights have been put in place...a mock up of how things might look eventually you will see below...

the basement has ten lights... and the chains of lights I have has twenty... this means I still have more ten lights to be placed in the tower segment... this means the next work will be done on the tower to get all this cobbled together as best as possible...

sorry for the low quality pics... lights without flash to look right is a hard feat

hope you like this...

cheers, vik

How can I not like it? It is impossible to not like.

For low light stuff, you need a tripod and to mess around with manual camera settings to get the best effect. It is a PITA, to say the least.

A nice food thermometer solves the cooking problem. I do a lot of grilling. It is the only way to be safe. Assuming that was the problem.

Sun? Heat? In Germany? Bah! Try 33°C and 90% humidity. (Well, 34° C and 60% humidity for today. Our heat index says it feels like 38.3° C) Welcome to summer in Washington DC Hope this may make you feel a bit cooler But I keep forgetting that air conditioners are not so common in Northern Europe.

EDIT: added the heat index for the day.

Nice light show vik, it will be a good piece to use for a night fighting game. You could turn off all the lights in the room and use only those on the bastion. Whatever is not visible to you is not visible to the troops.

well... currently it is even raining by 24 degrees... so I should not complain...
actually I had some not mint carrots I was using... seems they have been a bit over their best before date ...we´re over it...
I do have a tripod and I even learned some years ago a bit about picture taking.... which I completely forgot... nada there anymore.......talk about a mind like a sieve...
and... you stole my opening line!!!!! but I guess the mods would not be too fond of a german headline for my thread anywas and see below even more light^^

cormadepanda wrote:Oh lights. The triangle shape is an interesting approach, I wonder how it will work out for you.

well... how it will work out for me?... lots of swearing... that´s how it works out for me... originality never was a good decision... there is a point why the GW bastion has a more circular/ square look.... getting the lights inside this tight tower was nothing for the faint of heart aka thick handed (ham fisted?)peeps like me...

Theophony wrote:Nice light show vik, it will be a good piece to use for a night fighting game. You could turn off all the lights in the room and use only those on the bastion. Whatever is not visible to you is not visible to the troops.

cool idea for a scenario... a true fog of war...

I did something about the pure triangular shape... still not shown on these pics here... I am legging behind the picture taking as I have worked feverishly on some pillboxes for the still empty spaces...later mates...

also... tomorrow we will be on our vacation... Baltic sea... hopefully we wont drown... seriously... a great many peeps have perished already this year... fat luck we might be on such a part of the beach side then where swimming is actually now forbidden.......

but well... back to the bright side... here cometh the light fantastic...(ok...a bit cheesy^^)

you like?...
