I shouldn’t be surprised by the difference a wash makes, but it gets me every time.

Looks solid. I'd go back and hit the crux with a black wash, pull out the details a bit more.

I know right? Before I ever used washes I didn't think much of them but they've helped a lot of my projects.

Most definitely on the detail. That will be the next thing for the Chaplain.

He's kind of clean for a nurgle lord. Any thoughts on beating him up, or just going to paint him dirty?

Alas the Assault Terminators are no more. But I plan to rebuild some using Chaos Bits.

I'm mostly going to just paint him a little dirty. Really he's only a proxy for what I actually want to do as a Chaos Lord; this is mostly just to have something to play in a campaign I'm part of. I'm thinking for the 'real' Lord Choe, it will be a series of models chronicling his transformation from a normal marine to a chaos terminator lord... or even a Daemon Prince.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Sergeant Choe - the base model will be a space marine Master of Relics model.
Champion Choe - Still not sure... might choose a chosen model from Dark Vengeance and mod it with appropriate pieces.
Lord Choe - Still will be power armor based just a little more 'mutated/possessed'; I have some forgeworld stuff coming in that I need to sift through that might be part of this build.
Lord Choe Terminator - This will involve a lot of chopping and modding maybe; will no doubt involve terminator bits and green stuff.
Daemon Prince Choe - Still kind of not sure if I want to get to this point with this character.

Eventually I'm going to get a dakkadakka article going that will chronicle this chaos amry (what are they called? Warbands?).

I've always been one for the loyalists with only a little bit of curiosity with chaos... but there is something about them now that seems to suit what I want to do as an ultimate narrative to how I want to develop an army both in modeling and in background.

Lots of thing built! Great work.

I really love that old deamon prince model, I thought it'd been discontinued since the plastic kit came out. I'm actually glad it's in finecast as it means I can still get my hands on one.

Applied sand to the bases. Tomorrow will try to get some priming done so by this weekend I can get to painting.

Nice rich colour there

Applied basecoat to base as well as cape. They are similar to color because I'm thinking he would use the cloak/cape to blend a little with the place he is fighting in (wherever that base is from... maybe Mars... I don't know...).

---
Applied shade/wash to the whole model.

---
Picked out some of the details as well as apply some layers to the skull/bone and metal areas.

---
Finally, finished out the model by painting the base rim black.

Actually the Nurgle stuff is on hold. I'm mostly just working on random pieces I might have.

I used Citadel Imperial Primer on the librarian. This is my second pot of the stuff and I believe the first pot must have been bad because this current one I'm using was not as hard to work with... not as thick. I'll let it dry overnight and then get started on it tomorrow.

Tried to finish up this guy before the clock strikes midnight... but just don't have it in me to do more with him... its about 8:15pm mountain time in the US for me... and I'm too tired to welcome the new year haha
