Yeh they probably take longer than they should cause I keep thinking I'll accidentally slip and mess it up.

These ones are sort of subtle but it's getting there, people must be getting bored of seeing this Daemonette so much.

When the wash has dried lightly drybrush the raised areas, most notably the areas without anything that would cast a shadow on them. Don't worry about the eyes getting a tiny bit of grey in them as this helps them.

Once that has dried it is time to rewash the skin, though be sure to keep it a bit thin so as to just glaze the surface and not take too much away from the shading.

Almost done, no idea what to do next may have to go back to the Tzeentch Puppet project to keep this going easier.
Did more in this one to try to make it more interesting.

The blue is given a light drybrush of ice blue to the more raised areas, followed up by a really light drybrush of 2:1 ice blue to white at the points the highlights take.

The skin gets the same treatment though with codex grey then a touch up of 1:1 codex grey and white. All the metal is based with dwarf bronze at this point, being careful and using a small brush for the more fiddly areas of course. I've probably said this, or should have said this earlier, but imagining where the light will hit the model makes figuring out out where to do shading and highlights much more easier. Not all that related to this project, but it also really helps when it comes to techniques such as OSL. Of course with that you then pick the dominate light source and make a compromise between the two but this goes off track a bit.

At this point the mid tones and highlights are done all that's mostly left to do is to go back and fix up the shadows. And maybe make the claws look less flat.

well yeah the claws could do witha bit of work on them i guess...also i didn´t realize up till now that the hair has lil rings ans such things woven inside...

Yeh, it's odd. With the purple I just base them quick bit of pink over then wash down and done. This colour needs effort.

the darker the color the more work needs to be done...that´s why my marines are only white and then washed mostly^^

Well I'll see if I can get it eventually, probably highlight what I've got at this point with enchanted blue and it should be good. If not I'll go for something lighter.

Using a small brush I applied Badab Black to the recesses of the model. This is mostly where the armour meets the skin, making it thicker if under but thinner if over if that makes any sense. All the bronze is also given a wash of Badab Black (may as well get some liquid shadow when I finish this pot ). The eyes got something like 3-5 coats, it depends on taste. I also applied it at the hairline, just like the way it looks really. Finally the last of it was put in the mouth ready for the teeth to be done.

To help kind of think of it as highlighting, but applying it under where the highlights would usually gone just off the edge of the surface that'd get the highlight. Trying to lighten the claws a touch I put some regal blue on the raised areas as it was basically regal blue with a decent amount of washes and glazes to darken down the recesses to turn the base colour into the highlight. Still looks too flat.

well...all i can say is that it now looks way more evil than the last update...which is a good thing^^

Hopefully it looks even more evil by the end of it.

This step is mostly highlighting, can probably finish at step 11 for most infantry but spending this amount of time on it, may as well go further. For the blue areas they are highlighted with 2:1 white to Hawk Turqouoise. The bronze is highlighted with Dwarf Bronze. Black ink was added into the eyes again for the sheen it gives, making the badab black from earlier more of the shading around the eyes. The studs are painted straigh Dwarf Bronze and the teeth are started off with white.

I tried to fix the claws further by adding Enchanted Blue then lightly adding 2:1 Hawk Turquoise to white.

now these claws look very lifelike ! and with the painted teeth (which could use a bit of a tone down wash) it is heading straight for the finishing line...!!!

Finishing it up the teeth are given a badab black wash, then white is used to highlight the lower edge. For something different I used gloss varnish on the eyes, not that it shows in the pictures.

Thanks and now to add to the pile of ideas.

But first to find out if a Daemon Prince is worth taking for Daemons. Figured it should be somewhat easier than the fiends as it's bigger.
Of course this one is a foot tall and a limited edition colour variant of a $250 model...

Close enough.
That's one of the forms of Nyarlathotep, the crawling chaos. Comes from the Cthulu mythos as one of the outer gods .

That is so cool! And it connects with Slaanesh because exotic sea creatures = Slaanesh.

And Cthulu, I will make a Cthulu daemon prince one day mark my words.

ahhhh.... :facpalm: cthuluh...of course...

good choice! but me thinks a bit on the pricey side? how much have you pay for such a mini? ow...just read 250$$ ouch...

Well the plan was to try to sculpt a smaller Daemon Prince one, if they're any good. This one is more along the lines of the giant FW greater Daemons.

It will probably only get slightly more confusing from here.

Firstly the current stage of this project.

Excluding the fancy chair and blu tac of course, not having an actual Daemon Prince, but going for something still sort of sleek I have the Wraithlord to compare it to as I go along. Of course not all parts of it will have the same skeletal structure (hopefully, but wonder how far I can go with sprue), I just wanted something solid for the torso.

Then using my clearly awesome paint skills I filled in the rest to show basically where this should fit in with it. This is by no means the schematic, just a possibility.

Hard to see but visable in the paler version above it seems to have random eyes spread over it, so this has larger random eyes spread over it. Hopefully I manage to not make the actual one look as goofy as this paint one.

The plan for the limbs is to take two pieces of wire and twist them together, then to twist those together again putting them into position before adding a skin of green stuff. For the torso I'm thinking maybe some electrical tape to even it out a bit then add the green stuff skin. As for the suction caps, maybe I'll make little green stuff rings, although I could also use some plastic tubing or maybe even some of the rivet tutorials; though they may then look a bit unnatural (well more mechanical). For the teeth, maybe the tips of toothpicks or the teeth of plastic forks. Maybe even small pieces of wire or tips of pins to go for an angler fish look a little.

Then like the KoS I'm thinking it needs to have runes included in it either on the base or etched into its flesh, this'll at least draw another colour into it.

I would really do a test, try and roll out a tapered log of greenstuff around a wire core, roll it on some leather texture to get the skin, wait until it is half-hard (no longer sticky and limp, but still flexible) so that it retains the log shape, then twist it into positions so the wire holds it and it hardens that way. If all that works you will save A LOT of time and the tentacle would come out nice and even.

not sure how to do the suction cups, but maybe stick a lump of greenstuff and then use a stamp of some sort. the main problem is they have to be different sizes.

Hmm, how would I go about adding in that texture when I connect the parts?

you can get a piece of it and stamp it on while the greenstuff is fresh, or make a little stamp from greenstuff, plus different parts can have different texture, and it doesn't have to line up perfectly if the skin pattern is random enough.

i like the idea... the wiretwisting if possible...use a small drill and put the wire in and then drill...the wire gets twisted fast and good and even... also..i would try to do this project with either FIMO or air dry clay...as you will need lots of materail for the structure... later on when you are satisfied with the basic shape you can add a bit of GS for making the surface...this will then be a cool and strudy model!

and i definatly loled for the spruechair^^

Well while I wait to get the clay I got an idea to reboot the fiends again, sort of thanks to finding Nyarlathotep for the Daemon Prince/Soul Grinder. Sort of similar as it will also be using the same techniques, yet on a smaller scale.

Based upon one of the forms of Hastur.

Not really familiar with the Cthulu mythos, but it does have a bunch of nice ideas in it for Daemons.
