The 40k metal ork Warboss comes with an attack squig modeled onto his arm. I haven't purchased one of these because I went through 4 AoBR boxes and ended up with 4 Warbosses...one of them was converted into Wazdakka Gutsmek, and one got painted for use as a warboss.

None of them have attack squigs!! I bought a box of Squig Herders, and the three squigs have now joined the Orkish forces: Pinky, Fattie, Snarky. However, having a full sized squig on a base next to a warboss just isn't as...cool as the snappy little thing jumping off the warboss' arm.

Any suggestions for making or converting one of my warbosses to have a pet squig modeled onto it? Are there miniature squigs elsewhere that I could use or anything? Conversion ideas?

I really like bomb squigs they comes with
tank basta box set.

They are way better than fantasy squigs.

You can buy squigs from GW direct, but they probably won't fit well.

Some green stuff and jeweller's chain would probably attach it well enough.

one guy off here got a grot and put him on a mini bike and called it an attack squig, or put a squig in a cage and have a grot carry it around

I am gonna use my squig from my grot herder.

2 Suggestions: 1) remove the plastic squig from the bosspole of the new nobz box

2) use the tiny plastic squig from the goblin fanatic set

This is Orks. The attack squig doesn't necessarily have to be a squig. I've seen some conversions on here that use attack grotz. Maybe you could use rippers too, they have sharp teeth and an ork could swing one around on a chain.

the newest WHFB box has night gobbo's in it, including a leader with an attack squig, chances are someone is selling them seperate on ebay.

IMO could look good if you modeled one of the warboss guys throwing a screaming grot/gretchin from hist power claw, or jumping off.

Hrm....a little fearsome tooth filled gretchin sounds interesting! =p Attack Gretchin RAWR! =p

I was going to suggest the grot as a stand in as well. Thats an idea I had floating around in my head. Really I dont think it matters as long as its easy to tell what its suppose to be. Im sure someone would have a problem if you put a ROCK on the base and said thats your attack squig

The previous edition of the codex stated that 'bionic limbs' were anything from weapons to vicious creatures in cages as attached to them, so model a cage onto him with a vicious creature in it lol.

Or...something I have yet to have seen done (and have now decided to do once i find a good source of wings + 'nid rippers) model an attack squig as a beehive swarming with buzzer squigs! (check out the old rogue trader books for info)

My current attack squig is a WHFB squig with added bionics and a big metal jaw made out of plasticard, I call him bitey.

Squig are reativily easy to sculpt with green stuff.
Advantage is there round
So you do not need muscle creating and positioning for limbs,
There also a good training in sculpting and so.

there are a lot of rottweiler and German Shepard dogs from LOTR.
Ive always thought of using them but never did.
