Ok, this is a good one! Not really new, but a serious confirmation.

I didn't see it anywhere else, so if it has been posted already I apologize, but not really because it would mean it's barried in a thread somewhere.

I cannot reveal my source unfortunately, but this is as legit as a rumor can be, straight from the horse's mouth so to speak.

For planet strike they are releasing in July three new terrain kits: The Landing Pad, Imperial Bastion with Defense Laser and Antennae Array, and Barricades. You know I am gonna have these! GW terrain is fantastic.

In August, they are releasing a ton of new IG Leman Russ tank variants, I didn’t get to see which exactly, but a lot of them are coming out. I do not know if they will be multiple kits (I doubt it) or one or two kits with a bunch of the weapons on them. That means this summer is going to be pricey for me! IG tanks: Gotta catch em all!

Rumor stew! Yummy.

And my hopes of a total resculpt of the lemontank are dashed. Looks like it's heavy conversion work for my possible future maybe IG army.

Well, I'm glad the tank variants are coming out soon, but I'm really waiting for the artillery...

Would this be after the 25% price increase after June ,raising the price to like a landraider?

Wait, what? 25% price increase? You're gaking me right? That is nuts! Where did you hear that?

It doesn't make much sense to split up the variants too much. The simple fact is a single sprue could cover the main weapons for 3 or 4 tanks. By having each kit cover multiple variants it allows them to get more money for each tank we have to purchase. GW is easily going to ask for $45-50 USD per Leman Russ; I think it'd be foolish to assume its not going to get a bump up in price, so thats what I'm anticipating. And what better way to do it than to throw in a single extra sprue with a couple of extra bits for different variants to justify it.

Reecius wrote:Wait, what? 25% price increase? You're gaking me right? That is nuts! Where did you hear that?

That certainly explains the painful pricing of Guardsmen, their price bumps probably is probably (hopefully) already included at their release. I seriously wonder how far GW can push their pricing? There is a breaking point, but what is it?

Oh excuse me, I thought he meant a 25% increase on all GW stuff.

F'n'A, this is like playing golf for crying out loud....well, not that bad, but close.

Two Russ kits (Russ/Vanquisher/Exterminator/Executioner & Demolisher/Punisher/Executioner). One Hellhound kit (Nerfhound/Stupidwolf/Uselesshammer). Two arty kits (Basilisk/Medusa/Griffon & Manticore/Colossus/Hydra). Plus the Chimera.

And that's it. 6 tanks on shelves, plus the Valk. For the most 'tank heavy' army in the game, I think most GW stores can handle 7 boxes of shelf-space for Guard vehicles.

Sentinel boxes are small though - same size as regular infantry boxes. They're not 'tank sized'.

If true, awesome!

The landing pad and the Bastion (with Defense Laser!) sound especially nice.

I'll probably pick them up even though they'll be horribly over-priced, especially after our annual 'no lube' adjustment.

The May White Dwarf mentions a price increase for many metal and plastic kits effective June 1st, but it does not specify the exact kits or the amount of the increases. Perhaps merchants are getting more detailed information?

Edit: Regarding Planet Strike terrain, the May WD also shows a pic that includes the Imperial Bastion and the barricades. I did not see the landing pad. Perhaps it has already been displayed in earlier battle reports in WD?

Rumours abound about a 25-35% price hike on all models

BUT

Retailstores with a frontwindow gets a 5-10% discount, a gaming table for introgames 10-15%, paintstation 5-10%.
For retailers it will be a zero sum game. For internetstores....not so much.

Speaking of price increases, Maelstrom Games UK is currenly having a 15% off Easter Sale! Might be a good time to pre-order all those new Guard things.

If these are plastic, just these.

The CoD ones are nice, but they're also nice pricy resin.

I think you're mostly right with these, except I suspect the Colossus will be in the new Basilisk box. Then again, it doesn't really share parts with that family either. It's a possibility we will not get a model for it.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

The resin barricades are awesome though, such detail! I have both sets and love them.

These rumors are pretty much not rumors, we got the straight dope on this one. I will go out on a limb and say this is 99% accurate.

Haha, go out on a limb, that is funny. Like really, what's at stake?

But the price hike sounds pretty incredibly gak tastic. Good thing i just bought a metric ass ton of stuff that will keep me busy for a bare minimum of a year. Man, I wish I could get these new plastic kits before they jack the price. I really like the look of those.

Gathering the Informations.

What I'm really hoping is the Basilisk will include parts for crewmen loading+firing the main gun, with shells that can be swapped out for the variants.

Or, Aggy, it's possible that the Colossus' cannon will share parts with the Medusa ala the new Shadowsword kit, so the barrel will be two piece - a smaller shorter one (Medusa) that fits into a fatter bigger one to make the Colossus' cannon.

Complete speculation, of course, but it could happen given that we know they now have the plastic tech to do that.

Since we're speculating, I too would love to see crewmen in the new Basilisk kit, along with a redesigned gun shield (perhaps something a bit more toned-down such as the FW Vanaheim pattern). It would greatly improve the look of the model. And throwing in a case of shells and other accoutrements for the rear deck would go a long way as well.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Thank goodness Maelstrom Games has a bricks and mortar store with a window, and I'm sure they can stick in a table and paint station if they don't have them already.

Making a 30% saving buying retail from Australia to a 45-50% discount, making me even less inclined to buy anything here in Australia.
