Finally finished the MotF! I ended up getting stuck with life things to do for a few days, but had some time yesterday at work to get him finished up!

As an added bonus, I finished up a Green tactical marine last night as well! He was already greened out, and just needed highlighting and detail work done:



Going to work on some more green marines to try and finish out my tactical squads (5 Models left!) before I move on to finishing my Desert Support Squad (only 2 models left for them!)

After that it's on to the Termies and then it's vehicles. Can't wait to see more of my army hitting the field of battle painted ^_^.

I hate it when so called "Real life" gets in the way of the hobby.Anywho looking good I really want to see those termies done up in that scheme.

It's true,I gave a gibbon a a paint brush and it speed painted it's whole army to table top standard in 3 days.I have been working long and hard for many an hour and that monkey beat me,fething monkey!

Yes those nefarious gibbons.
They're stealing all the comission work.
They can't play worth a damn though.

It's not about the winning, oggers... It's about looking good whether you claim victory or gloriously fail... And there's no going wrong with this green - It's so... GrEeN!

Why are all your tanks painted in the Medusa-sheme - Maybe you should add a Landspeeder painted in the desert-sheme, for balancing your army...
Otherwise, the desert-marines will be sad, because they have no own vehicle...^^

Ok! So I never had plans to do a landspeeder in the desert scheme. Mainly because I didn't plan on taking a landspeeder in this army! BUT, I did want to use the desert scheme again, so your peer pressure has worked its evilness and I give you this:



You can see the last three tacticals and the last two Support squad members here as well.

Oh and I finished another sergeant, haven't taken photos of him just yet ^_-. Will get that as I have a bit more to show!

Is this going to have similiar accents to the other desert Camouflage? If so, how will you implement that? I always find the greatest difficulty with Camo is scaling it.

Any chance of details on how you built that beautiful Twin-Linked Autocannon on the Dreadnought? From the looks of things one could build something similar for the left hand side using the Missile Launcher.

Nurglitch, The autocannon arm is just the IG Autocannons cut down and placed appropriately. The cabling etc removed and a bit of plasticard to help fill some gaps. I don't know that the missle launcher would look the same, but I do think you can easily convert it to house them.

That's really quick progress - BUT NOT FAST ENOUGH!... "Ahem." What I meant to say was: Keep the ball rolling smoothly man.

I think you've got the camo in proportion with the tank, too. It's rare to see a SM vehicle with camo. Sometimes you do, but it just never fits in with the rest of the army. This guy, however, obviously does (...Although he's got a little way to go yet, but it's still all there).

All of this is outstanding. I didn't really like the Chapter in the fluff side of things as I couldn't really take them seriously enough but this blog may have swayed me a little
