interesting... somehow i thought you went with the blue scheme instead of the purple pink scheme with these...but certainly a good start sir!^^

I had seriously considered going with the blue, however after giving it a bit of thought I think it'd be best if I just continue on with the general theme with its minor variations. Though I do really like how the blue comes out so I'll have to use it on something else in the future.

For now though I have another box of Daemonettes and the idea for a Daemon Prince that may be too ambitious but bring rivets into it somehow.

that looks so creepy... truly evil...good job sir!

well you could always make your next fiend done in the blue scheme...

I suppose I could mix the two blue ones I have with the current then use paint to see what it'd look like en mass then. As it is I'm going to be left with about four Daemonettes spare when the units are done.

Thanks Virt.

Still has to look good in the end Vik, though I ended up getting distracted so no mock up of it yet.

Finally I think I have the confidence to work a touch more on the Daemon Prince as well as throwing together the wires needed for the Fiend. Though I trim the ends off I leave the loop so I have somewhere to hold it, not to mention later it helped as an anchor point for the other fiend.
Going from left to right: Daemon Prince's head, Two Daemon Prince arms, three Daemon Prince legs and the six for the fiend. With the usual Avatar who doesn't do much these days but show up in pictures to help keep scale in mind; all his friends except the Wraithlord being put away until I feel like playing them again later.

Maybe I'll redo the leg ones to be looser like the fifth from the left and make the other two current leg ones the arms. Seems to be a little thicker and more flexible. The current arms are also only two wires twisted together by folding once while the legs are four twisted together by folding it again a second time. Meaning if I do swap over the arms the old ones can be used for the fiends, cutting them down to the right length of course.

Finally Daemonettes 21-30 are put together as well.

Or rather 23-33 as the two heralds are to just be Daemonettes now as they don't have the icons and someone still has to look more important when it comes to a unit.

The Prince's base is also ready, using a second less interesting 60mm objective marker I had for the Eldar unlike the first one which I've kept (and the only of the two I had a picture of ) this one was a bit empty; perfect for a base, not so much a point to capture or hold.

a three legged DP? hmmm....the base will be interesting to be used fot that model then...

The one I mentioned a bit back then went off on a tangent and made a fiend instead.

Looking goofy so far unfortunately, will have to try to sort it out when I start adding in details to it. Also the positioning of the legs is thankfully not as unfortunate as the first picture suggests.

I suppose I'm going to have to do a lot of polishing for this turd.
Doing the tentacles like the Fiend's ones where I'll add in the fragile tips to the tentacles closer to completion or when I add detail to them so they don't get in the way or broken doing the rest of the work. The fun part now is adding on a little armour to tie it in with the Daemonettes (if I can, it is pretty different already... but not too much to give the impression of the iron hide upgrade) then somehow making it look like it can fly. I have wings I can use, though I could just say it stretches enough to get around as fast as if it were flying or something like that. Needless to say like the fiend I'm just making it up as I go along.

And that's the best strategy and very chaos appropriate

for the wings i would suggest that you do them on your own...will look better that way... more in theme that way... and yeah currently that blob looks a bit goofy but it has lots of potential to it! the armor bit i am particulalr interested in seeing you make that as one never knows what i can learn from you

Well the wings are left over from the model I made into the KoS anyway, not sure if they'd even work with it so if I want them I guess I'm making them.

Though I am sort of on the fence about it as I can always say it can fly without them.
Perhaps gem rivets on the armour.

hmmm... yeah i guess a sort of levitation is always possible...

will this DP also geta cloak? it could use it as a means to support his flight too...

i don't know if wings will work with that blob.... but a cloak would work fabulous

Hadn't even considered the cloak cause I wanted to try to stay close to the inspiration, but I can see it working a bit as well especially around the leg area to transition it a little easier. Perhaps I'll relent and add an additional three tentacles to the legs.

more legs is always useful...

Not really much of an update as I didn't get time to sculpt much more, but I did manage to throw together some concepts for it.

The difference really between them though is mostly done in painting though.

Cause of the mouth at the chest level it seems better that if I am to go with a cloak I go with a more open one. For the second the main change is there will be runes on the edge of the cloak and C is probably what I should go with in the end anyway.

Given the shape on it armour is probably not going to work outside of the odd band or so. But in the end I think it's better getting opinions before than after I put it on.

hmmm... not sold on this one now...reminds me of this one now...which i think would be nice as a sort of small demon...but not a DP...

also if you do the eyes under the shroud look... i think the extra mouth is kind of weird...well even for a demon...

also that one tentacle coming from his head through the cowl looks akward... he also reminds me due to that as if it is a bunny now... might be of course due to the sketcch as this somehow generates the "fur" look...that will of course change in the actual painted version...

Makes me feel better about only getting a concept up then.

I suppose rather than give it a cloak I could bulk out some areas and add webbing between the legs to make the transition from the body to them a little smoother. Probably would have to bulk them up a bit at their base or add in additional ones. Looks too Tzeentch with the cloak anyway.

well make an explaining drawing...that would help... but it sounds interesting...

Something like this to blend the transition a little.

At the moment they're sort of like this squid.

But the change would make them more like this octopus I think.

For the viewer's sake I should probably paint Daemonettes or something while figuring it all out so they don't keep coming and seeing edited pictures from paint.

nono.... do shair your ideas via MS paint! i think you are now way more on track with the concept! that is a good idea and you should follow that road! thin fin-like skinparts... they could actually be painted a bit in contrast to the tentacles ...

So worked on a SoB a little bit as I wasn't in the mood for GS work (though will be after this post ) and got to thinking rather than update the SoB one (which has basically died then partially revived to die a bit again) what if I made this more of a general blog though still mostly focused on the Daemons as they're the likeliest to be built up at the moment. More or less it'd be the same, but with a slightly different title and occasionally something other than Daemons in it. Could do a quick showcase to introduce the SoB into it, but nothing too major as they do have their own at the moment.

Edit: Suppose I'll give it a poll since they're fun.

now you have three votes for the mixing... i think it is a way of maturing on this board... i started with multiple threads too but then i saw no point in letting them stay apart... one thread one hobbiest behind it all!

And in the darkness paint them. (Sorry, that last line of Viks sounded like one ring to rule them all etc etc...)

Well, you already have some Eldar stuff in here (even if it's not because you're working on them) so it already isn't 100% pure Daemons.

Well the poll was pretty one sided so I've decided to go along with it. Guess I'll redo the table of contents on the first page in a bit, split it into the same sections it is now but in sections based on the force it covers as well. As it's already sort of long now I'll throw a few spoiler tags on it and have an overview picture of each force to go at the beginning of their section.

As for the Daemon Prince I bulked up its legs a bit more then added in the webbing, even added in a new leg to balance it a little more.

Added a few decorations onto it, though probably won't go with too many on this as it seems like a good amount already to me.

Also the model that started off this blog in a way.

Decided it could be a Dialogus for the SoB after all, though I've kind of grown fond of the spear it has so I guess I'll be ditching the traditional Dialogus look with the speaker on a stick and going with this model being the Order's equivalent to it. Gives a reason to use the Fabius Bile backpack that came with the Cypher ones I got for the Canoness' retinue that way. The tubes under the skulls will be painted a glowing orange I think. Won't be including the mechanical arms it comes with though.
