(Apology for the overused meme)

Ahoy hoy folks, back when I first joined dakka I recall a thread somewhere abouts here where we all showed off the madness that was our workstations. Figuring we could all do with a bit of fun, lets have it again! Lets show off the insanity that is our workstations, workspace, or heck even coffee table if that's where you have to get things done! Its all in good fun so lets have a go at it!

Yeah this is the madness that is my workstation....This is what happens when you inherit a friend's tau army and you get tired of painting and want to get your assembly on >_<

Of all the things I love about my workstation, that Paintier thing is definitely worth its weight in gold. Such a useful thing to have especially when your paint collection starts getting a mind of it's own...

Aye there is the madness under the desk, assorted bitz boxes, army cases, unassembled, unopened models, and part of a tau army I haven't sorted into a container yet.

I wish I could afford a good workstation.

What's mine? A little desk under my raised bed. Cluttered with bitz and paint-pots and no fancy computer or rack or lamp in sight.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Aye I feel your pain mate, I got that table at a garage sale (It's one of those semi-cheap folding Pulp board tables you have for parties and catering events) so that actually ended up working out great at least as far as real estate goes. Everything else I just bought here and there but man it sure beats trying to do stuff at your friend's house kitchen table and stinking up the house so much with glue fumes that your friend's parents nearly kick you out in a rage....

Wooo random tangent there...anyhow, yeah I am definitely thankful for a good table!

Dude the only reason i have that lamp is because my friend is awesome and lent it to me lol. They are pretty rad though i almost can't paint with a normal 60watt bulb anymore.

God yeah! That Mag lamp was a recent purchase and the "Simulated Daylight" light it gives is bloody fantastic, the 2nd lamp in the background was so low (I was using one of those energy efficent bulbs (bad bad BAD idea)) that my eyes would be itching furiously from the strain after a long assembly session. That and the extra 7x magnification lens doesn't hurt either!

Here's mine. I only use it to convert models, I don't have the money to buy the paint set, and my gw store lets people use its paints. But it serves very well for this purpose. Since my version of converting involves sitting down for very long stretches with a scalple, some files, a bit of green stuff and some blu-tac and just putting bits together to see how it would work, it's normally quite a bit messier than this, as there are bits strewn about everywhere. When not strewn everywhere, they are kept in the draws to the left of the screen. The citadel minature box is what I have been using to carry around my guard army for the past year or so.

And here's a close up of my army taken at a prior date, which shows off the amount of bits and messnormally lying around.

Also, closeup of the wierd, green lamp to the right of my desk. I'm also a designer (not really, I just do DT).

lol I love "pimp your Work Station" threads

@Signs - like how you bolted the tray racks right into the wall. That's serious business.

@stubbyG- I always thought a spice rack would do good as a paint rack.

Here's the main painting area, with a constant shuffling playlist of as many MST3K episodes as I can cram on my computer playing in the background.

The spare bitz/paint/other junk table.

The side table with other bitz plus the three 2' x 4' felted sections to turn the painting table into a gaming table, plus some titan legs.
