G'day,

My first introduction to Games Workshop was Warhammer Fantasy Battle (Chaos) in Australia (Perth) during university - in late 1992! However, I soon became interested in Rogue Trader - just in time for the release of Warhammer 40K Second Edition - where my Ork Horde began and stayed my main focus for the next decade, though closely followed by Blood Bowl (Wood Elves, Chaos) and Necromunda (Escher, Delaque) - not to mention many of the other games and armies... Unfortunately my painting could not keep up with my buying in those days!

Time became scarcer and eventually my models languished in disuse. When my wife and I moved to the UK in late 2006, some lucky twelve year old got the bargain of a life time at our "all must go" garage sale.

But then in 2008, realising we were but a stones throw away from Warhammer World - we made the pilgrimage and my interest was rekindled once again. (For more information you can read the blog post).

So I have started once again - though promising this time not buy too much ahead of what I have completed. Work has been slow and patchy so far. My friend has started a project blog here and has found it useful in inspiring him to get things done and get useful feedback and ideas - so now I am too!

Catchya,
Adrian

Necromunda & BB huh? Your welcome in my home anytime. If your in the westcountry! lol.

Healthy supply of imagery and following of that round here, which I know makes me happy.

I'm a Delaque guy too, that's actually me in the picture.

Check my gallery for a WIP BB volcanic pitch, if your that way inclined!

I been here only a couple months and everyone's friendly and it's a strong community. Loves it!

I guess its like 5 large GW stores and a museum in one. As someone who basically hadn't touched the hobby in 6 years (and played it for 10 before that) - the history of the hobby that runs through the stairwells and the miniature display room was a trip in nostalgia. Much better than reading it on Wikipedia. However, I imagine for current hobbyists - just think a GW store on steroids. There is a large gaming area with rows and rows of tables, scenery and miniatures, a full modelling workshop and of course, a fully stocked store. I imagine had I gone in the first five years of taking up the hobby I would have been in heaven - of course, we didn't have a GW store in Perth at that time either...

I'll take a look with interest - but I am trying to just stay with 40K for now - we will see how long that lasts...

Thanks everyone for the welcome! Now to get that first work in progress up and running...
