Finally, my first squad finished with the Trukk. This is my Speed Freeks Army, I'm trying for a battered Mad Max type Dessert Theme.

The Trukk is similar to the Flakk Wagon I' posted yesterday. I may go back and re do the rust at the back. As this Trukk is for my Shoota Boyz, you'll find a Grot with an ammo crate, discarded Shootas, and a Crate of Shootas. The Marine on the front I'm quite pleased with.

I'm a firm believer in WISIWIG, so all my Shoota boys have spare ammo mags with a green stuff strap holding it in place. Most have secondary weapons. I've detailed the bases with bits of SM Tanks and stuff, adding mushrooms and reeds where appropriate. The Gun discharges are from the Cinematic effects range from Amourcast. If the Shoots has a muzzle flash, I've modelled casings being ejected fom the Shoota.

Any comments more than welcome......

How did you paint the glass objects, like the ork's goggles and the green sight object on the truck?

Those muzzle-flashes are Armourcast, right? Looks very nice.

I'm jealous of how awesome those Orks are. That's also some of the best dirt/mud I've ever seen on that trukk. Very nice all around.

That is amazing. The marine splayed out on the front looks great.

The green glass is easy. Dark Angel Green base. Then, a mix od 50/50 Dark Angel Green / Snot Green, paint a cresent (half moon) over half of the round area. Then do a quarter moon with snot green, and then put a thickish edge around the snot green (to form the top of the circle) with 50/50 Snot / Scorpion green. Finally, a thin line of Scorpion Green. To finish, 2 small white lines on the Dark Angel Green in the opposite corner to the scorpion green.

Once I Matt Varnish the model, I'll pick these out with gloss varnish. The blue on the goggles follows the same as above, using Necron Abyss, Mordiam Blue, Ice Blue.

I like the painting but the modles give the eye too much to look at and end up hurting. Like the truck the bright red strongley contrastes with the space marines blue and the dust and sand looks out of place for such a clean coat of red on top.
