I've seen many showoff threads for diffrent factions, diffrent races, and scratchbulds, but I havent seen a specific model showoff thread, so I made one.

I will not start with the first Dread, sooooo...It's up to you, Dakka Dakka, give it your best Dreadnought (I know shameful pun... deal with it )

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.

dude can you tell me what paint you used for the paper on that dread and did you use a wash over it?

I used Reaper paints for the paper/scrolls; no washes, but I made very thin mixes of my shadow and my highlight and just kept pushing and pulling in the appropriate direction.

So basically - base coat, then the writing in a dark brown, then the shadows and highlights (over the writing).

Overall it came out alright... the only part I really liked was the leg badge "mortis", but it's not clear at all in the photo.

Work in Progress. I combined the sorcerer bits left over from a Chaos Terminator Lord and an AoBR. I got a ton of great advice here about not "over-Chaosing" it. The paint is a test.

Black Templar Forge World Dreadnought. The arms are magnetized. His close-combat arm is the Iron Clad Seismic Hammer with Heavy Flamer because I think it looks cool. The other arm is a Forgeworld Plasma Cannon. The base includes hirst art blocks. I tried to give him a more dymic pose: 1 foot higher, turning slightly to his left, balancing on steps. No name, yet.

Followed by an Assault on Black Reach Dreadnought with close combat weapon and multimelta. Name is Blaze.

And here is one of the first Black Templar models (or any 40k for that matter) that I have painted. Shown with the Assault cannon and Close Combat arm, I can also load him out with a Forgeworld Plasma Cannon, Lascannon, Missile Launcher, Multi-Melta, Hurricane Bolter, Chainfist, or Seismic Hammer. His name is Raze.

There's some great stuff in this thread.

I must echo praise for jgemrich, your paint is crisp, unique, and very well done. Kudos!

Nice paint work!!!

I'd really like to see one of these assembled WITHOUT the giant 80's shoulder pads...

Also does this kit come with only the one set of legs or does it have piston-style legs like before as well?

I much prefer the older classic look of the ork walkers ("true-style") to this newer more humanoid look and hope i can solve that by not using the shoulder pads and doing the legs like before.
