I have decided that i will start a Speedfreaks Army with the models from AoBR, firstly i would like some feedback on the deffkopter and also what do people think i should go for next as i have never collected an ork army so this is all very new to me.

Depending how far you want to go with the modelling some Buggies and Trakks would be in character.

Don't buy the current ones as they are rubbish left over from second edition and should be updated.

But as said above boyz in trukks are the backbone of an all mech waagh.

Looking Good! As the other people said, trukks will be pretty much essential. Also, consider adding a buzzsaw to your deffkopta(s), a 42" first turn charge can really help out! Nob bikers and battlewagons could round things out nicely, and a big mek with a KFF is pretty much essential to keep everything alive and going forward.

I like the very crude, simple buzz saw conversions..like a jagged wheel cut from card mounted to the front or the bottom of the coptor, but the twin linked rokkits on the aobr kind of get in the way.

With orks, the more blunt and crude, the better,

So do you have to replace the rokkits then, i ve only just started and havent managed to get to my local GW store to pick up the codex

Right i havent posted in a while as i have been revising, but in between that and all the breaks i have had, i have managed to get more models painted, and now i also own the codex so i can start to put together an army and know all the rules, so enough talk here are the models

I don't think the rokkits have to be removed, they are just very static models.

We need more orks in this thread...in every thread, actually.

Hey bud, looking forward to seeing your progress!

One thing I would suggest though is to wash the skins more selectively in the creases only, it seems on some models you suffered a little bit of sandpaper primer syndrome, sticking to the creases would eliminate the appearance of it a touch.

Other than that, looking good!

@MajorTom11 Could you explain what is meant by sandpaper primer syndrome never come across that before, once i understand what it is then ill have a go at correcting it, thanks

@CommissarKhaine here you go

Right as promised here are the pictures of the latest models to be completed (although some are missing there teeth) this squad will ride in my latest investment, my first ork trukk which is in the construction and painting phase as we speak, i hopefully should be putting pictures up of that and a second deff koppter

So far i have painted from AOBR

10/20 slugga boyz
2/5 Nobz
1/3 Deff coppter
0/1 Warbos

Plus an extra mek from the lootas/burnas box who acts as the army's leader, my big mek until i purchase i model. so a quick question would it be possible to attach the generator from one of the meks to the one with the custom mega blasta and do any of you have an idea on whati could call my Mek?

Anything's possible - with a bit of effort. I don't have any experience with the custom mega blasta mek (the metal one right?) but I have attached the Kustom Force Field to one of the Nobz bodies from the Nobz box. Plastic to plastic easier than plastic to metal easier than metal to metal I find...

Keep up the good work!

Looking off to a good start!

I agree witn Arakasi: with orks, a lot goes if you put some effort into it. For the record a KMB is dangerous since your big mek only has two wounds; give it some thought before you make a cool model with less then optimal equipment.

Everywhere I'm not supposed to be.

Firstly, lovin the Orkz. Been thinkin about buyin some just to build and paint, looks like a lot of fun.

Secondly, for a Mek name, how's Ol' Rench'ead?

If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

@CrashUSAR yeah i do quite like that name, ill keep in mind and use it if i cant think of anything better, although i dought that

Thanks for the feedback on the what to give the mek, and you have a point it might not be as safe, however as you said magnatise them is a good idea, as i would have two mek bodies so if i could swap the back packs it might work.

On another note 1) how much extra imperial stuff can you get away with using and 2) i was looking at FW and saw the new grot tanks, do you think i could use them as Buggies/tracks until GW release some new ones or i have enough spare parts to build my own

Thanks very much for the feed back and hopefully some more stuff will be up here soon
