So this post is pretty self-explanitory once you see the attached pictures. I didn't want to sell a kidney to buy some rhinox riders so I went to Toys-R-Us and got some bears. The final one will feature the Thunderlord holding on to an armored polar bear rearing up on it's hind legs and swatting it's paw. Any ideas on where to get a decent polar bear model? If not I'll have to just reposition the one I've got. Oh, and yes, that is Sir Elton John playing the piano on the back of the musician's bear.

Nah, I had to sculpt that and the persian rug.

I never really thought about it, but now that you mention it, that ogre does kinda look like Mickey Rourke.

re other bear models - try looking at ceramics as well as toys & models.

i`ve always thought that a large part of the hobby should be the utilising of toys/ornaments etc, i just don't get the "it has to be GW" attitude-if you don't want to use your imagination why model fantasy-well done.
I was reading an article about Gary Gygax (D&D) the other day and it described how when he was inventing "Chainmail" the fantasy battle game that preceded D&D he scoured the thrift stores for toys to convert and use along side historical figures so you are in good company.

Simply because it's amusing and awesome. Having an Ogre bellower is boring. Having Elton John with his piano strapped to the back of a bear and being forced to play at swordpoint by a gnoblar is more interesting.

It's cool, nobody really likes them, even the people who play them. I have every Fantasy army, and I literally got an entire Ogre army in exchange for painting a guy's Dark Elf hydra.
