btw,the resin between the legs and arms wasnt thin. it was just like it was part of the legs/arms

You collection is looking great there hhLB, I feel for you having to clean those parts, I really do. Thouh I must say its always baffled me how the one of the most expensive resin parts suppliers can still offer one of the lowest quality control levels in regards to flashing and warping. Strange

agreed.

i almost sent back my dread but i was lucky and could borrow a dremel from a friend.no chance fixing it with any other tool.

its also the reason why i refused ordering anything bigger than a dread(already had the caestus assault ram in the basket XD )

BUT:i once got something wrong and they did send it again and i could keep all the stuff.that was nice

now back to work so i can post another update tomorrow.

little update on my marines.

sorry you had to wait,but my spray gun wasnt workin properly and i was busy rescuing people from zombies

and yes,those are boxing gloves with blades taped on them and a tiger XD



marines basecoated with adeptus battlegrey and started painting the bases with scorched brown.

Thanks for posting the photos of the sprue for the heresy stuff.

The marines are looking good so far, can't wait to see them finished up.

One crit would be that the bases all seem slightly too uniform. I would definitely break up the placement of the cork and the marines to add a little variety.

about the bases: im hoping the electrostatic grass breaks the uniformity up a bit.
if not, ill fix that with the next squad ^^

Ok, I'm definatley buying some cork next. Do you now where I can get some? My parents don't really drink so there goes that option.

@Munch - A lot of hobby stores sell it in sheets, my local Hobby Lobby stocks it in the clock making aisle for some reason...

And on to these Wolves! They look amazing, just as I get tired of seeing seas of (painted) grey, you come along with some that actually look better than what I'm used to seeing! Can't wait to see those MkV marines all finished up!

i always buy bricks of cork that you use for wrapping in sandpaper(to make the sanding easier).

a brick is ariund 50 cents (euro) and if you use it like on my marines you can approximatly make 100 bases.

and unlike the sheets its less chunky and you are not limited in shape as you can cut out whatever shape you need.

finally an update on the pred.











added a freehand to the hatch,dunno if ill keep it thou.

i also was trying to paint some battledamage and am quite pleased with it

2 or 3 more hours and it will be ready for battle ^_^

oooh purtty, a very impressive start. I think you should keep the free hand but I think it needs some more detailing or some runes within the silhouette maybe.

agreed. looks pretty flat at the moment.

ill definetly add some battledamage to the freehand and spots where its bleached out.

and i also want to add runes,but probably will paint them on the track guards.

and it needs some yellow!!! XD

used zhufor as a sw terminator and just didnt like the cape.but its great as a banner ^_^

today i started assembling more thunderwolves.

came out pretty good.but they need a lot of work to make them more space wolfish.

I am really liking this, the models look amazing.

How did you do the combi-meltas??? Been dying to do some for my wolfguard marines (10 wolguard with combi meltas and power weapons/ wolf claws.... lots of crisping slicing and dicing lol).

If you need any more of the old metal SW's let me know, got a small pile of them and some old Mk1 tanks/ razorbacks.

BTW this might sound dumb, but who is Zhufor??

I think you should remove the hooves, right now it just looks like horses with wolf heads. And it kinda bring down the overal effect of the conversion. So greenstuff some paws or kit bash them and I think they will look better.

the combi-meltas for my terminators are the sw stormbolters with a melta nozzle and a small piece of a plasticard tube.
for the wg in powerarmour i used a combimelta from the vets,melta nozzles and meltabombs that were cut in shape
