The rarefied atmosphere

these are really cool. I would like a rack like this but one which is vertical. Desk space is low but my desk does back onto a wall. 10 pots tall and 10 pots wide and a depth of 1 pot with the possiblity of extending would be cool.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

The over all design is great.

Not so fond of the mechanical fasteners though. I would much rather have chemical fasteners like wood or acrylic glue.

Look for prices to be up monday - thats the word I got. Also these come in colour combinations - something like 20 different colours to pick from.

yeah,
These look really good, but at those prices they should be!

I still think the best idea for paint shelves is Major Toms DIY shelves.
Cheap plus they don't take up any table space.

Do want.

Got my girlfriend the Miniature Scenery one, and it was a pain to put together. This one looks so much better, especially in acrylic!

Will have to buy a couple when they come out...

Aww. You have to choose the rack based on the type of paint you want. I didn't put that together before now, the bottles being different diameters...for like years, it just wasn't something I thought about. It'd be nice if you could mix and match on the same shelf. Like one teir of GW hex, one tier of Vallejo all on the same shelf. But I guess buying one shelf for each section isn't too bad though. Still a nice system though.

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

Now all I need to do is ofload my CnC laser cut kits then reinvest in the acrylic ones, but its a bit sad if you cant fit any paint bottle, I guess the CnC one is better in this respect.

I believe I was told your will able to select your type of paint and the holes will be cut accordingly, so I was told anyways.

yeah,
nice stuff.
worked out how much to hold the GW range plus one of the tool units.

The Rack: Tool Rack, Small racStooL £19.33
The Rack: GW 2012 Straight Section, Large, Paints & 2 Drawers 4 x £22.55 = £90.21
Subtotal: £109.54
Shipping: £29.68 (TNT Express Courier Z3)

Total: £139.22

It's very nice but £139 is too much...
shame there isn't cheaper postage and price break deals on full sets.

Wow. I don't know about the shipping to the EU, but to the USA it doubles the price. If they set up shop closer to home I'd buy these in a heartbeat, but I simply cannot force myself to pay 50% of the overall price in shipping.

It's really just bad business to manufacture things in Aussieland it seems.

Hmm Australian manufacturing has been in the press a lot lately, its said that it is hard for it to be competetive etc. Maybe we are seeing that now in action, because all it will take is someone in the US or UK that is handy with laser cutting acrylic and mdf and there goes the market for the aussie manufacturer.
Something like this would be hard to patent as it hardly a novel item, just the particular design is novel and that can be got around.
At least I can support them by buying Australian.

Well I have kitted out about 3 armies worth of bases from these guys and I find their postage to be reasonable to uk, and these mdf shelves are a much more novel solution than what I currently have, so may get the main unit with 2 lower drawers, and 2 of the 90' edge ones for a good little unit I can cart from desk to kitchen table.

Would be about £80 in all which isn't bad for the laser cut board that offers a neat solution.

...which is why they'd do better to partner up with an EU and a US partner making these things locally to save on shipping, but still earning them a bit of license money.

Big fan of Back-2-base-ix.
Used them a lot for my Dark Angels and now my DKoK armies.

This stuff seems about right price for me... only quarrel being I would love an option that didn't have the paint holes at all (IE a model stand for my in progress stuff that makes it a lot easier to see what's going on)

But when the acrylics are out I'll be looking at prices a little closer.

I have it on good authority that your wish might be coming true sooner then you think. In terms of the price break - I beleive they are going to be putting together some package deals or sets as it were.

Overall I think people are putting too much stock in the shipping - I think the overall price of the unit is really cheap, and I could see others charging perhaps up to double for the same thing. If you consider the overall price I think your getting just as good of a deal as you are elsewhere. IMO.

I asked - the packages and the ordering of multiple items helps with shipping costs - the single items are under a certain weight so multiple items puts you into a faster and better shipping rate category. I think this is ideal. I guess you will just have to order more then one pink item.

If you are really interested I might even send a email to inquire about the shipping. I know there customer service is top notch.

As beautiful as these are, I think I'm going to have to go with the "door sweep" option. :/
