As long as it isnt made the same way as the blast craters. Those things friggin suck. We have a set of those for our table, and they look cool and all, until you start playing. Way to slippery, even with some paint on it. Not to mention the ridges are at such a high angle that minis just fall off the blasted thing

They wouldn't be vacuform plastic. There's no way Vacuform could even pretend to have detail like the dead Cadians around it. Also, I'm pretty sure they learned their lesson after the disaster that was the Planetstrike craters.

IIRC, that looks a lot like an OLD OOP terrain piece GW made. Might be re-releasing it though....

I'm really curious what you're talking about, because to my knowledge GW have never put out an actual plastic trench. They made the old IG firing pit thing in the 2000s, but it's decidedly different.

Agree 100%.

Pretty Terrain. Horrible for actual game play.

Tangential to the actual topic at hand, if someone produced something you could temporarily put under your models to act as a spacer that could conform to the impossible edges of those craters, allowing your model to balance flatly atop it, would that be the kind of thing you would be interested in?

Panic...

Funnily enough, I think the standard Moonscape craters are lovely! I'm really hoping that GW doesn't end up with another vacuformed disaster like the Blastscape, but I'm pretty optimistic about it.

So basically instead of something like the Spearhead expansion, it'll be more like a few more "named" terrain items with specific special rules --ala Sky Shield, Aegis Defence Line, et al-- with their rules released in a WD article?

Basically, but with several named pieces and a few Xenos ones as well, though I understand it will be bigger than Spearhead but not an actual expansion.
Any chance of a xenos kit in this rumoured expansion??

There are some according to my source, He didn't say what. However, he did mention that it's not all "Imperial" Terrain

Hmm wonder what the xenos kits will be?

I'm thinking webway gate for Eldar. Maybe an Orkified bunker or bastion. And some FW style capillary towers or brood nests for Nids.

You get 3 defense lines, 2 encampments and 1 bunker, plus a bunch of barricades. It has special sections for heavy weapons teams. It looked quite extensive. There was a bunch of new Chaos too, plus some old Chaos being re-done in finecast.

I think it was CSM. I didn't really look at them much. It looked like marines of some sort, but don't take my word for it. And like I said, new finecast stuff. Judging by how the wall was shown, I'm thinking megabundle. The box cover showed the whole defence line with some smaller barricades about it.

While I think its great that CSM get some love...

Just, to be honest, it has always been a lot easier to convert existing imperial stuff to csm than it has to convert it any xenos faction.

Heck, I was in the process of scratchbuilding some tyranid bio weapons (for an aegis gun) when they nerfed that...

Anyway, new stuff looks good...but here is hoping for some xenos stuff. The best option (sales and inventory count wise) would be a combo kit that builds more than one faction.
