Turn 1:
Knowing he has a drop pod coming in with meltas I setup in a way protecting rear armor, he sets up as close to me as possible with marines in cover which he made 3+.
I flatout both dragons squads heading for their only target. I move the council over for some countercharge action which I anticipate from the
Th/
SS.
He drops his droppod right behind my one dragon serpent. I fail my cover (a recurring theme) and he wrecks it, they fail morale and are pinned (sweet.....). He assaults the other waveserpent and despite needing 6's to hit with grenades he plants a grenade and proceeds to blow up my other fire dragon serpent (double sweet.....). They dont get pinned though.
Turn 2:
So a terrible loss on turn 1 already for me. Pinned dragons and the other squad is tankless. I move the dragons out of the crater and shoot the termies which I kill 2 I think. I assault my council into 3 units (drop pod, drop pods unit, and the unit on foot). I blow up the drop pod, hurt the one unit pretty badly and dont do much to the other.
He assaults my pinned dragons, they die. his
TH/
SS go after my council instead of the dragons. My farseer gets pimped this round (yay, two games in a row), I couldnt make a re-rolled 4+. I lose lots of council members, but I think I killed one unit off.
Turn 3:
Well I feel like the game is almost over for me already. I thought this was a soft marine list and I should have handled it easier than I am. My confidence is totaly shot at this point, ive run out of steam on turn 3, which is never good. He still has 10 marines in reserve too. I try and go for his
LR with my 3 remaining dragons, but im out of range and dont hurt it. All my other shooting (falcon, 2 prisms, all my scatter lasers), cant wreck a single rhino. In fact I dont ever wreck it the entire game.....(
wtf dice, come on).
He assaults my dragons with his other marine unit, they die. Council dies because no fortune.
Turn 4-5:
Its already game over, im way down on kill points at this point. I try to run away into my corner, but eventually he catches me. His
Th/
SS wreck my falcon on the first attempt (needing 6's to hit again). He rolls double 5's on the damage table right away (kids dice were fething red hot, couldnt believe the numbers he was rolling). He shoots my
DA with farseer, I lose 2, fail morale (
wtf.......) and run off the board (double
wtf).
Anyways, this game sucked, I shouldnt have lost as bad as I did. My dice sucked, his were on fire. I was chumped super early and it went down from there. For a basically foot marine army, he dumied me. I guess I was a bit over confident that his list wasnt that great and I was going to man handle it. 50 marines is more than I could handle
lol. His thunderfire cannon did nothing all game though.
