Hello Dakka,its time i made this trhead,as my other "blogs" dont appear to survive post 9,I will post everything here
Lets start with my momental projects:repainting my space marines,The Angels Reborn,and the Baneblade i bought on Crisis (altough dont expect much from it,at the moment im still working on the left track thingy)
With 4 days "vacation" and a lot of enthousiasm we kick off!!!

Anyway i made and finished this guy,my imperial commander for my (in the FAR future IG army)
Ive made him from the baneblade tank commander and greenstuffed the cape (again huray for upcoming GS skills!)
story to think with this guy:"i shouldn't ordered that Baneblade to fire,I was trieing to keep my uniform clean..."

Strongly suggest putting a lamp about 24 inches above the model and turning on your flash for the pics.

Could we see some close ups of the dread? The blades remind me of Japanese swords....nice chance to really put some flavor into a model.

the commander looks nice. Bu where is his other arm? I can only see one of his arms. Old battle wound?

His other arm is hidden under the blue cape
And now im off building an baneblade

Yeah the arm under the cloak totally works as well.

and his two handed chainblade (I use him as Gabrial Seth)

Maybe you could do some freehand work on his cloak?

Nice stuff. Is the Chapter Master meant to be an ex-deathwatcher? If not, I'd get rid of the left hand pad. if he is, repaint the pad silver. There are quite a large amount of people who use the DW pad just because it looks 'cool' but don't know what it actually is. I find it ruins the look for others who know what the DW are.

But don't change anything if you don't want to. It does actually look cool.

My one nitpicky comment would be on your whites, especially on the sword.

You might want to hit the sword with some super fine sandpaper, and then a couple of coats of super thinned down white to smooth it out. The back side of the sword looks a little on the rough side.

Would have to agree. It is the reason I stop painting white on models. It never does come out the way I would like it. . .

From what I remember, the biggest thing with painting white is pateince. Thin it out, and do multiple layers, and it generally turns out ok.

The reason why the big chainsword looks a bit rough on the back of the middle,is because i used 2 for making a
longer one,and filled the middle with green stuff,and back then my gs skills where not good...
yeah ill nead a to do a thin white layer overit,ill do that tommorow and post it up along the other pictures

Hit it with a fine file or some fine grit sandpaper before you re paint it. Heck, even a very carefull scrap down with a shar hobby knife would prob give you a decent result if you dont have any sandpaper or a file handy.

I also think the gold and white look very good together- that rich, royal feeling. Nice stuff, and keep it comming.
