These are from way back when the first Harlequin boxed set appeared. Due to the brightness of the paintjobs, sunglasses are optional!

I absolutely hate Eldar, mostly because my friend used to run an Aspect list, and those Harlequins just brought back some memories... the repressed bad kind. Great. Now I need to make another therapy appointment.
All kidding aside, it's really cool to see old models show up on Dakka, especially with awesome paint jobs. Thanks for sharing them.

Thanks. The hardest part was coming up with colour/pattern schemes. In the end I decided to go with the flow and see what happened! I have about 40 and it nearly drove me bonkers ensuring none of them looked remotely alike.

It all works for me, generally a great job, except that last one, I just can't do a big pink sword, yeouch. (Checks are awesome though).

It seems like in some places the paint is a bit thick. Is this just the old models? Besides this I like the painting.

Nice. Garish like "killer clowns from outer space" should be.
I've got 15 of these buggers - found them recently.
The best part is that Jes Goodwin sculpted both old and new.

nice work. The last picture is my favorite model. I really like the checkered pants color scheme.

Hmmm...
Id do it but I just dont think I could paint harlies, either old or new, well enough to do them justice.
Ona side note...for anyone who wants some there are a ton of these on ebay...some still unpainted. One auction had like 20 of them. Prices seem to be pretty good too.

Thanks for the comments. The reason that some of the weapons look odd is that I took the view that Harlequins would have an almost 'chaotic' approach to design. Almost like how the most dangerous animals in the world tend to have the most bright colours. And may I say that the sword is not pink! Its Polish Crimson obviously!! Paint looking thick: no idea. It might be the gloss varnish I used, it was daler rowney, then it was matted.

I had a few of the minis you've posted; only have 2 left now, the bottom one (no pink sword tho!), and this one -
- which I repainted for the MotM. Might post a pic of the other one, but it's got a pretty gruesome paintjob, so it depends if I can muster up the courage!

I like the bright colors, suits the models. I like checkers the best but only because I'm obsessed with checker designs.
