For those of you who don't know (probably everybody) I created a project log and a bit of fluff on my first 2 armies (night lords and imperial guard) and I am proud to say that I finally have both armies painted

I had some free time today and decided to write some more fulff and make some fun dioramas to showcase the miniatures I own and love. This little thread will revolve around the 23rd company's attack on an imperial bastion erected on the frozen fragment planet that the Night lords and traitor wolves are currently inhabiting.

So without further delay here are the pics.


Alright back story time

Responding to the recent decree of exterminatus, Commisar General Jarith ordered a full 5 companies to the surface of the unknown planet with orders to search for any signs of enemy contact. A foward encampment was set up in the ruins of some unknown structure that appeared to be imperial in origin and centuries old. After a few weeks of silence the general ordered a command bastion be built to better communicate with the imperial navy ships in orbit, thousands of penal legion workers along with mining servitors to begin work on the complex. The workers began to complain of violent and vivid nightmares when being around the work site and several of the servitors began to malfunction, suddenly some workers and guards began to go insane attacking everything in their path. But despite these setbacks work on the facility continued. At the bastions conclusion its defense was tasked to Commander Morgan of the Tersian 8th company, little did any of the imperials know of the carnage that was to follow.

I absolutely love how this thread appears to be telling a story and that the Dakka URL banner says "Total! Maximum! Violence! Now!" at the same time

Thanks, I wrote that backstory quickly before I had to go to work I want to eventually tell an overarching tale for all of the armies that I own, it was actually really fun setting up these diaoramas and I think I will be doing another pretty soon.

Not sure what it means, but yeah the guns are glued on, some turrets rotate and stuff.

These are great happy to play against those night lords today, hope my renegade army could make it a bit fluffier if you need more soldiers. Love the fluff though pics are well done too.

But that is great work! I love the idea of IG armies with air support, does it play well on the table?

Thanks for that plasmagun tutorial it was really great. Thankfully I finally have all of my special weapon guys finished. and to answer Astaroth's question, when I play IG I usually run vet squads in chimeras with a whole lot of russ spam. Valkyries are alot of fun in objective matches, in this one game I was up against a CSM player who spent the whole game trying to hammer on my russes and vet chimeras, only for my valks to outflank and dump loads of fire and scoring units onto all of the rear objectives. I also love the valk kit, its expensive but the whole idea of plastic aircrafts is so awesome, if they would only make some more plastic planes I would buy them so fast.

Camo cloaks are my favorite part! So much eye candy.
