Micro Art also recently made molds for making fur capes; http://www.thewarstore.com/newblog/?p=1107

This is an idea whose time has finally come. I hope more companies will create molds for miniature parts.

For the three different sizes they charged 20euros... plus 10euros postage to europe from Germany.

I used Paypal to pay and after exchange rates these cost £27 including postage.

Looks cool, but can't ya just use guitar strings and get pretty much the same effect?

Have you worked with guitar-string? It isn't the easiest thing to bend, glue and have stay in place without putting the model under strain.

yeah,
Guitar strings don't always want to go where you want them. They can make a mess of a almost complete model if they flick out and spread glue on another part of the model.

When doing tight bend on a guitar string the ribs sometimes split and show the inner core. not cool.

I've noted that paint chips and cracks on longer lengths of Guitar wire if the cable is bent during play.

Plus I like the idea of having cool little hobby tools. I'm still looking for one of those metal scale rivet and bolt tools.

Looks like a good product at a laughable price. $42 USD? C'mon.

The concept is sheer genius, BUT it's just two little squares of corrugated plastic - surely that should be possible to replicate with some appropriately textured plasticard?

I've been wanting to buy these for like two years, and those sweet bat swarms. I'm glad the price came down, but twenty bucks to ship to the US? I know Coolminiornot used to carry their stuff; anybody know if they have a US reseller?

yeah,
I know this is a bit of thread necromancy.
But I thought I'd post a link to my first useage of this tool, so you could get some actual usage feedback!?
Crazy GrotMek with old school robot arms made using MasqMini TubeTool! more photos in my blog

I was struggling to use thin cables made using this tool. and returned to using guitar wire for the back back connections.
And almost to prove the point, some guitar wire jumped out of where i was bending it and pireced my skin .
I played around creating smaller cables and weird little worms like creatures by crossthreading the plates
It is a tad expensive but overall I'm very pleased with the tool.

Not sure if you've seen this site panic, but they do nice packs of metal wiring, that're a thousand times easier to use than guitar strings, pretty cheap and super quick shipping too.

Thanks for giving us some feedback on these beauties, the price is still a major turn off for me though.

You have added vital new and\or missing information on a non-topical topic. RAW, this is not thread necromancy.

Have you tried using these? It seem to me pewter would crack around any tight bends, but I haven't used it so wondering if you know.

I use them a lot - they're pretty flexible within reason. I've not used them for any extreme hard angles though. But for more organic shapes and bends, they're top notch, highly recommended.
