Not my first mini by any stretch, but the first greenskin I've done in over a decade. I think they're full of win! Painitng dirty makes such a change and was really fun. Even when I was down and out this week with sickypoos, I still felt motivated to paint him. I think the world is trying to tell me to start up an Ork force. Something I will ignore for the time being as I'm still sitting on a ton of other stuff.

I think I'm going to unload him. He's too nice to sit around unused.

Deceptive title is deceptive. But great mini! The tabard, while subtle, is particularly convincing. Big fan of what you've done with the Power Klaw as well.

Thanks - I wanted to for a muted pallette. Not a fan of the comic book angle of orky painting.

Title amended!

Nice! I like the scratches on the claw. How did you do that?

Just layering. Painted the claw clean. Added the rust. Over again with clean on anything that looked a little OTT. Rust patches applied to places that needed it.

Anything with an edge that would see friction or abrasive wind got edged with metal, as oxidisation generally occurs on surfaces, and grinds off leaving unblemished metal underneath.

Scratches applied with liberal artistic license. First marked out with rust and then boltgun metal (GW)

Dust was then added as a glaze with varying mixes of Vallejo GC Terra, Khaki and Bonewhite. Very very thin paint to reduce the amount of pigment actuall settling, painted on as you would normally - it's important not to treat it as a wash!

It's wierd, considering the effort that went on the more dominant powerklaw, my favourite part is the yellow casing on his shooty thingy.
