this 'blog' will be about my new SM army The Emperors Knights.(not sure about the name).
I used to collect Dark angels and the the knight like style of them, however for some reason i have gone of the cloaks and the secrets. So the Emperors Knights will be a DA based chapter but be able to work with both the DA codex and the Sm codex.(you'll understand why soon!).
I'm also a massive fan boy of PLASMA weapons. because I'm generally facing SM, and there is nothing a plasma weapon cart kill, oh and there just fething awesome.
Because i what more plasma weapons i hope to one day create a Vulka hestan- But with rules for plasma weapons and power swords instead. But for now i will just use The DA codex because they can have Sammule! who has a plasma cannon hover bike!!
and after reading Knightly hover bike tutorial http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/350911.page i really what to make some of my own.
So today some box's arrived containing a raven wing bike kit(for the hover bikes) and 1 predator tank and a Lemun Russ demolisher tank(heheheeee).
so i thought i would start the blog and post what few models i have...more or less done(i still need to decide on a chapter symbol). And then update it(obv it's a blog) as i progress.

Yeah, its getting there. yeah I'm really not sure. i really what plasma cannons, but i doubt that would be fair? i s'pose i could just go with twin linked plasma guns, and a storm bolter...but i don't want to. Not sure how i'll do plasma cannons though. Any suggestions?
Also i really don't like the front. Ideas would be appreciated.

I think it comes down to balance, it was one of the major issues I had as well, I wanted to slap on some serious weaponry but all the trials I did made the bike either look lopsided, or far to bulky.

If your wanting plasma cannons perhaps have a trimmed down cannon on one front side and the power pack on the other with cabling running over the top part? trying to get it a bit even.

RE: the front, it looks like you have quite thick plasticard, I had debated trying to do more on the front however I ended up going with less is more, you could try put more stabilizers on the bottom edge of the front housing (I tried this and it looked ok, but I wanted more weapons on it)

I quite like the back end you've created (another area I had some problems with) where did you get the centre part from?

Keep it up - if your having problems coming up with ideas, put it down and do some other modeling/painting and come back to it later

Off the bottom of a drop pod. you never see the bottom so it doesn't matter. you get 5 of them. Yeah i think the vent covers are too wide. i'm thinking of slopping the whole front down so you get a sort of triangle on the front. Then add some intakes on the side. For the cannon i was thinking of putting it wear the light is.:/

After looking at those iv com up with this. i will put some air intakes on the side, made from front of a jump pack and green stuff, probably. yes it is held together with tape and hairy bluetack(it evolved on my floor), so no you can't fly it around the room. the dude on it is just ripped of an old model -not the one i will atchaly use. What do you think? comments would be nice. I think the wings/fins look a bit small now??

The fins look fine that size, I'm not entirely convinced with the pointy prow though. Rear end looks great, but could look better if you got some plasti card pipe instead of bending some around for the exhausts.

You could build up the front a bit more, keeping the front point the same but curving up to a higher point by the handlebars. You could even flare out on the sides a bit. It would be more aerodynamic and would also get rid of the original fender lines from the bike.

I really like the single line for the bottom of the bike (the front fender, under the rider, and continued with the exhaust if that makes sense). It gives the bike a "hover-y" feel.

Well, you could do a jet attack bike That would make it easy to mount a plasma cannon!

i reckon hes on to something there. mite give that a try if this fails:L

Looking good so far! Love jetbikes, though I go way more retro. I have a Sammael torso spare in my bits box if you want it so it's really obvious for the counts as MotR. LMK.

5 of the mk1, 2 of the mk2. I can stick a pic in here if you don't mind the threadjack. Your call on the motr torso, yours if you want it as I say but it is a beautiful beast of a model as a whole.

I really like it, but the plasma gun is gonna look odd. Maybe use the plasma pistol from the BA Sanguinaries?

:/ i don't really know the model tbh. but i shall have a look. go for the bike pic post, would love to see them. But yes it does look to big. Maybe cut it in to the light? or further.
Edit: had a look, very regal with the sweeping wings, but ironically, too small.

I know, they're tiny, but somehow awesome. Fulfills the "small is ultra tech" vibe.

I think reaper man is right about the plasticard tubes for the exhasut, that would work well.

I am not sold on the pointy front, i think it should maybe have another angle down in it again, so that line is not as long. You could also try to add another cover almost on top of that that fans out some on the sides and up, but does not have as sharp an angle. I know that maybe a little hard to understand, I will try and remember to draw a pic of what I am thinking.

As far as the wings go I would see what they look like a little bigger, and maybe move them back on the model some. I like the placement on the metal model inmygravenimage posted, i believe sammael?

overall great work, very impressed. Rawson was right about the strong line on the bottom of the bike, it looks really good.

Yes i will change to tube as soon as i get some. i have to say im confused at what you mean at the front. a pic would help. maybe cut the point of and bring it down, so it looks a bit like a land raider shape? the intake looks to squeare i now think. maybe turn it the other-way up or round it of where it enters the bike.

Ok so hears the ideas for the gun set up, plasma cannon, or plasma cannon with storm bolter. I will also give the squad two melta guns to deal with pesky tanks.

so witch set up do you guys think?
