So I've decided to take a break from my Blood Angels for a bit and get some time in with my new
DE and work more with the Daemons I haven't been playing much.

I showed up early to get my game on but others came in pretty late. 4 of us had shown before long and decided to get a 3k 2v2 going. The lists were as follows:

Mission: Annihilation, pitched battle
Deployment: I deployed my raiders in a line to create cover for the rest of our vehicles. Egan placed his raider behind my lines and Bjorn, I placed all 3 ravagers (speeder is proxying one). Both venoms hold the center. Travis deploys all 3 opf his heavy tanks, creating cover for the Manticore. His son places the tyranofex in the back corner, with the warriors,
HT, and carni in the middle of 60 hormagaunts @_@
Me and egan get first and they fail to sieze....
SW/DE T1
I turbo up 2 of my raiders, while my other 2 move up 12". Egan moves his raider behind them still gaining cover. My ravagers spread out. Both venoms move up 12" and drop their trueborn in cover. Egans rhino moves up[ 12" on our left flank.
Shooting sees egan blow off the missiles on the manticore. I immobilize the vanquisher. We put 1 wound on the tyrant (it made 13 armor saves from the venoms combined shooting @_@), and 1 on the tyrannofex.
IG/Nids T1
The manticore shuffles to shoot its heavy flamer at one of my raiders. His russes stay put. The gaunts move/fleet forward, trying to get into range of the trueborn but fail.
Shooting sees a lot of failed shots (all the plasma scatters and the vanquisher missed), the tyrant and barbed strangler on the warriors kill 2 trueborn from 1 squad (thank god I went to ground!), the lone guy holds firm.
Assault the carni charges one of my raiders. Even with 7 or so attacks it fails to get a hit through.
SW/DE T2
I shuffle raiders, disembarking 2 squads on my right and 1 on my left. I intend to multi-charge most of the nid line, hopefully wasting them with fearless saves! Egan moves up and pops smoke on the rhino. His raider moves up 6" to fire its payload!
Shooting I manage to wreck the manticore with a lance. Combined lance fire kills the tyrannofex, 1 warrior, and puts another 2 wounds on the tyrant. Egans shooting kills the fex.
Assault I manage to get all the gaunts into 1 combat using 2 wych squads. I also charge both russes (which didn't move!). Haywire grenades wreck the executioner and blow all the weapons off the vanquisher. The huge gaunt assault sees me kill 19 gaunts, he manages to kill the agonizer in my
FNP squad and 5 wyches out of the other. He loses a further 10 gaunts from 1 squad, and 7 gaunts from the other, leaving less than 10 in one, and around 15 or so in the other.
IG/Nids T2
30 outflanking gaunts and 2 vendettas come in from our left. All the vets pile out of their ride. The nids move around.
Shooting sees 2 pens and a glance on egans rhino... 1 pen gets through, but travis rolls a 1! His otehr vets unload on the longfangs, but the demo charge scatters and meltas kill the sergeant and a lascannon. Both vendettas shoot my ravagers, wrecking one and failing to pen or glance the other.
At this point we're up 5
kp to 0
kp; so travis wants to call it so we can get more games in. Victory for the
DE and
SW!
Afterthoughts: So I learned that, unlike with my
BA, charging 60 gaunts in a large assault with only 14 wyches is a lot harder
lol... should have shot pistols first to even the odds @_@ Otherwise I feel egan and I had solid tactics and a good gameplan; kill the russes, assault the small nids, shoot the big ones, and pick off everything else as it came in.
My second game I asked the
IG player (Travis) if he wanted to play again; his son had went off to do a 2v1. I told him I'd take my Daemons this time as he hadn't played them much (hes from louisianna). heres the lists:

Travis spreads out to cover the field. he flat out's all the vendettas, keeping his rear armor nicely guarded. Everything pops smoke that can.
Daemons T1
I get my preferred wave: fateweaver, bloodthirster, 2x 5x horrors with bolt, the unwinged prince, and 1 squad of fiends.
Fateweaver scatters off the board on the first scatter of the day... back into reserve thank goodness. Everything else scatters a little, but not too bad. I try to run the fiends into cover but fail.
Shooting sees me wreck one vendetta. Thats all... he made all his other cover saves :(

Having less than half my army facing his entire might, travis shuffles his tanks around to get maximum shots. His disembarked vets move around the wrecked vendetta, taking aim at my orange horrors!
Shooting sees his vets unload into the horrors, causing 9 wounds... just short of making me roll 2 on the bolt horror! Luck was on my side as he killed all but the bolt horror. His remaining vendettas put 2 wounds on the bloodthirster. Both his battle cannons miss and hes able to put down 2 horrors from the green group.

I get 1 winged
DP from reserves, along with fateweaver and my second pack of fiends. The fiends hit spot on, fateweaver scatters 6" right behind a building, and my winged
DP scatters 11"... right into the middle of no-mans land. ugh.
Movement my lone horror moves toward fateweaver, as does the foot prince. The fiends move to eat his vets. The green horrors move to the right, trying to get a
LOS on a chimera. My right fiends run to get near weaver, as does my thirster, and winged prince.
Shooting my lone orange horror whiffs, but my
DP hits... and rolls a 1 for bolt. Ugh. My green horrors hit and fail to do anything to a vendetta.
Assault my fiends mop up the vets and consolidate back, hopefully out of shooting range for his plasma vets in the chim.

Travis begins to shuffle to his left. He aims both vendettas at fateweaver, his punisher at the winged
DP, and his vets in the chim are in rapid fire of my thirster...
Shooting begins with his right russes battlecannon missing, but he does 3 wounds to the green horrors. Due to reroll, I only lose 1. The punisher unloads and does 15 wounds to my
DP! I make 11 saves after rerolls, barely losing him :( The vendettas peg fateweaver, getting 1 wound through. The chim vets + his other russ barely sneak by 2 wounds, killing the thirster. He also pelts my fiends with a few shots, doing 1 wound.

I get in both my last squads of horrors. The blue horrors stick, while my purple horrors scatter 10" barely landing on the board..... UGH!
My foot prince and lone horror move to get side shots on the vet chim. My fiends move and fleet to get within range to kill the russ and vets (if I don't fail to blow it). Fateweaver and the green horrors move up. My other fiends move and fleet toward the punisher.
Shooting sees my changlings group blow up the vet chim, killing 3 and causing them to run! This leaves the russ wide open. My green horrors pen and cause a shaken result on one vendetta, fateweaver does the same to the other. The orange horrors and unwinged prince immobilize the last chimera.
Assault my fiends make it to the russ on the left and make it to the punisher. I blow up the left russ, causing 1 wound to one of my fiends. My other fiends blow the weapons off and immobilize the punisher.

Well travis is hurting now; hes got 2 useless vendettas for a turn, and only 2 usable vehicles. He unloads all the vets from the vendettas and moves them up.
Shooting the command squad in the chimera kill off 2 fiends from the group attacking the punisher. Both his other vet squads manage to put exactly 2 wounds through fateweavers defenses, killing him. His leman russ whiffs badly, I make all the saves on the horrors.
In assault I wreck the immobilized punisher.

My last prince stays off the board.
Both horror mobs move toward his far right vets. My fiends that wrecked the punisher move and fleet, getting into multi-assault range of the vendetta and command squad. My last fiend squad surrounds the rear of the immobilized chim.
Shooting sees my horrors shooting kill 7/10 vets, they pass
ld. My last
DP and orange horror shoot at vendettas, failing.
Assault my fiends blow the last chimera, pinning the squad inside. My other fiends manage to explode the vendetta and kill 2 guys in
CC, while losing one of their own. They consolidate behind the building after running down the command squad. The horrors manage to kill 1 vet, but they pass
ld and stay stuck in.

At this point we chose to call it... the rest of the game would be his vendetta running around dodging bolts, and even if he killed my orange horror, last 2 green horrors, and somehow managed to kill the fiends as well, I'd still be able to take the last russ and other command squad making my lead too great for him to catch up.
Afterthoughts: That game went better than I expected! I'm loving having all the bolts in the list; makes mech a lot easier to deal with. Travis had some bad luck; like all his battlecannons scattering into no-where. I also had some bad luck, with everything scattering 6 or more inches when they came in minus the fiends. Was still a fun game, Travis learned quite a bit, and I got to play a tough army to test the new list. There will probably be a rematch in the future!
